Lake Skinner made me earn it today. I hooked into 8 fish and lost every single one – including a brutal streak of FIVE in a row. The water was lower and cooler than my last trip and the bite felt completely different.

The afternoon window finally brought some life, and the Z-Man SMH Worm in Sprayed Grass was the only bait I could get consistent bites on. Slowing way down and sticking with the finesse game ended up being the key. We managed to land 6 fish. Thankfully we made adjustments!

Not a hero day, just a real Southern California grind where you learn more from the ones that get away than the ones you land.
