I have a problem when I'm fishing for smallmouths in a lake. I can see tons of smallmouths but cant seem to catch them. The lake has parts where there is Sandy beaches other parts with weedy bottoms and other part with Lilly pads/wild rice.Any tips Thanks!!
Awesome gotta love topwater never tried soft plastics though always been jitterbugs poppers and buzzbaits. This opens a whole new world for me especially since grubs are my favorite lures
You are only supposed to hold a bass by the jaw vertically. If you hold them horizontally you have to support their weight with your other hand as well. If you dislocate the jaw you usually can't tell that's why people think its fine.

Dont hold the bass like how you were cause that can actullay dislocate their jaw and then they cant eat and die
We have this reservoir in the lower Hudson valley in NY with monster smallmouth in it and they pretty much do the same thing in the evening.
The drag is set as low as it gets, they couldn't set the hook even if they tried
