Topwater Bass Fishing On Lake St Clair Harsens Island

Just because you don’t have a boat, kayak or UltraSkiff doesn’t mean you can’t get on some great topwater smallmouth bass on Harsens Island. Barely out of the launch area, I was catching topwater smallmouth bass with the Savage Gear Smash Tail and the @plusinno Popper.

After the sun came up a bit, I switched over to the Googan Krackin’ Craw and caught a decent amount of fish.

It was a mixed bag of smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, pike and rock bass. I saw some walleye and bluegill, but didn’t have any luck catching them.

If you get there early enough, you should have no problem landing some quality fish when fishing from the shore in late summer at Harsens Island on Lake St Clair!
