Top 5 Lures For Winter Bass Fishing

If you saw my last video, you’d know that I did not catch any fish; however, in the tough, cold winter months the lures in this video are the ones that I have the most confidence in for those conditions.

In the previous video – https://youtu.be/c6z6eTP6u-4 – I give you a rundown as to how I fish these lures…seeing as how there wasn’t a lot of fish catching action.

As always, thank you for your continued support. I appreciate you guys and gals!!

  1. For the past few days we've been in the mid 60s to even the mid 70s here in Southeast Louisiana. Unfortunately from a few days before Christmas to just over the weekend we had a lot of rain. I can't remember exactly what day it was but we had 12 inches of rain with some areas having up to 15" and it's been causing all the creeks, rivers, ponds and everything to be flooded. The normal ponds that I fish was still super high even yesterday and the pond is at the bottom of a hill which the field at the top portion of the hill doesn't have much grass so any decent amount of rain causes the pond to look like chocolate milk so it's been some difficult fishing even though the weather has been beautiful. I posted on your Instagram post that I was wondering where a Biospawn product would be listed on your list, I can't wait for the water to drop and clear up some so I can try out the VileBugs that I ordered months ago. Being I fish in a farm pond I don't throw a jig bc of the silt and muck on the bottom but with our crazy weather it's hard to really come up with a top 5 winter baits, we only had frost one morning so far. But b4 the flood I was actually having a lot of luck with a Texas rigged Exostick in Okeechobee Craw, Red Shad and Bama Bug.

  2. 1. Chatterbait, but with the original Zman split tail trailer or something similar. Drag like a jig but the blade gives just a little sound and vibe.
    2. Suspending jerkbait.
    3. Ned rig. TRD or TRD Craw, either one.
    4. Dropshot.
    5. Jig, but not just any jig. Living rubber skirt. Still use the Rage craw trailer. Move the jig slow enough and the claws don't move much either.

  3. Thanks for sharing these tips with us. But….the proof of the pudding is the eating. I know you canโ€™t bent steal with just your hands, still it would be nice if you could catch a fish ๐ŸŽฃ. Iโ€™m a fisherman too and sometimes i canโ€™t catch anything especially with water temperature just above freezing point unless i buy a fish at the fish auction. Anyway keep up what your doing ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ˜Ž ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ ๐Ÿคœ๐Ÿค›.

  4. played around at local pond, used a fluke and strike king 4" worm, worked the flats, 9'in to shore, played in grass, 6'to 18", nothing. Couldn't even get the bluegill or bream to bite… But, 73ยฐ and blue sky today… Good way to kill an afternoon. keep up the videos, we'll B here… ๐Ÿ˜†

  5. My 5 go to baits during the winter.

1- the jerkbait! It's a deadly way to get quality fish

2- gonna have to be rattle trap. Do lots of different methods with it to trigger those bites.

3- a jig. Have one tied on all year long no matter the conditions.

4- the dropshot! Huge fan of finesse fishing the past couple years, and this is always a go to for me in tuff conditions. Small plastics like plasma tail, shad imitation,or anytype of worm style bait.

Number 5! Gonna go with the neko rig! Been fishing it for alittle over a year now, and I'm truly amazed on its performance and the fish it catches. Best bait to use with it for me is just a natural stick bait. Common to buy every where and is super affordable!!
