These baits work extremely well for spotted bass and smallmouth bass but also work well for largemouth. Winter isn’t the time to be experimenting with new baits so fish these with confidence and know that you’re throwing baits the bass will readily eat, even in the coldest of weather.

The beauty of spotted bass in particular is it doesn’t matter if you’re trying to catch a bunch of 2 lbers or you’re trying to catch the next world record spotted bass, they all eat the same baits. You can catch the biggest spotted bass on earth with a senko, a dropshot, or a keitech without limiting yourself from catching numbers of fish along the way.

  1. You know when you think about it with some very slight modifications and exceptions these same baits work for the hottest part of summer to. The fish get lethargic due to the lack of oxygen and heat so you slow down and look for deeper water usually, just like you do in the colder months.

  2. Going to Lake Camanche this Sunday for the first time to get my first spotted bass. Will definitely try these baits. Any recommendations on where I should start? Also will the murky waters due to the recent rainstorms hurt my chances? Thanks!

  3. Do you have any experience with the River2Sea Rig walker? I had the old version and got some fish with it in the fall (only LMBs but im sure it would work great for other species), do you have any opinions on it? Or have you even thrown it? Keep up the good videos -Your biggest fan 🙂

  5. I wish California would do something like Florida were if you catch a 8 pounder you get to take a pic of it and send it to the Game and Fish and you get stuff from Bass Pro ETC. How can we maybe get that started in California?

  6. DUDE You hit the nail on the head on this Video for sure. I have been looking for some fishermen that live up in this area doing videos on Winter time fishing.
