Top 5 Baits for November Bass Fishing!

Bass fishing is awesome in November! There are bass all over and they’re all feeding! You can catch them shallow or you can catch them deep. You can catch them near current, or out on points. You can catch them chasing bait or gathering on offshore structure! This transitional month is a great time to be on the water!

All you have to do in November is decide which group of fish you want to chase. Do you want to go shallow while there is still a topwater bite? Do you want to go deep and start locating the haunts your fish will use all Winter? The options are endless and so are the baits we use to target them!

Below you’ll find links to Tim’s top bait choices from each category. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of the items. We’ve also included a couple of our favorite combos for fishing these different lures.

  1. Seen you guys at ocoee valley farms Everything in me was wanting to go up and ask for help, but I had to respect the family time you guys were having. I find myself watching yalls videos the night before I hit the lake but I’m still only decent with a wacky rig on chickamagua and wattsbar. Still learning though.

  2. Would a Ned rig with a 3 inch Gary Yamamoto work this time of year. Ever since the huge weather change I haven’t caught any fish. I’ve caught one small mouth in the last 3 weeks. I’ve been fishing this place called the block hole. I’ve caught striped bass, large mouth, small mouth, freshwater drum, carp, crappie, and bluegill. But here lately I’ve gotten nothing. It’s roughly 40-60 foot deep with a main river feeding it

  3. I had my boat break down last weekend right in the creek that we launched at. Since we still had power up front we just trolled around. I caught at least 6 bass on a spy bait within an hour, and it was probabaly the best day of fishing I’ve had since April!!

  4. This doesn’t have to do with top five baits, but I have a question about braid to leader. What would you say the “rules” are for tying leader to braid? Should you always tie a lower pound test leader to braid, is there a certain pound difference they should be? Just curious as it seems braid to leader is becoming more and more the go to in bass fishing.

  5. Jerkbait for sure is my favorite 2nd fluke on the river mid diving crank on the lake then it would have to be a Texas rigged senko and finish up with a jig twin tail grub

  6. Tim, here in the southwest coast, I throw a lipless crank and yo-yo it off the bottom, below the Shad schools, and the bass hammer them. I can cover a ton of water on a 1/2-3/4 oz lipless. It resembles a dying baitfish and the bass can’t resist it….Surprised you didn’t have this in your selection for Nov.

  7. Great advice as always. Any recommendations for South Florida pond fishing or Headwaters Lake for November? Weather is still in the upper 60s at night and low to mid-80s in the day with water temps still around 78-80

  8. Great video! I love the what lures to throw by month videos. I'm in Indiana and I've been catching them on spinnerbaits and underspins. In fact, the Largo Shad setup that you show your catch on in this video is the exact set up I use. I also have success on the Dark Sleeper (this thing catches fish!!!) and the wacky rigged Senko (that's my go-to anytime I need a bite). Swimming a lipless has also been effective. Love all the knowledge you and Matt share. I've only been bass fishing for a =bout 3-4 years, but I've learned a ton just from watching you videos.

  9. Have either of you tried the Jackall iProp? It is my favorite and a fish catcher. It has a great shimmy on the fall and just the right weight for an ultra slow retrieve. I highly recommend that you try them if you haven't already. Thanks for all the amazing videos guys!!! 🤙

  10. I love throwing a 3/8-1/2 oz jig still this time of year, definitely a confidence technique of mine as well as a neko rig. Other favorites are the Alabama rig and a mid diving crankbait.
