If you’re looking to cover water and catch numbers, focus your attention on the reaction baits. And finally, if you just want to enjoy a leisurely day on the water, focus on the slow moving presentation.

  1. Her in the ozarks region with me it’s jerkbaits, rock crawlers or warts, swimbaits, bladed and spinnerbaits, Carolina rig or always have a wacky rig. I realize most at ozarks will have a jig, it’s just not my confidence bait. Love your show. It has helped make me a more versatile fisherman , especially with the big swimbaits.

  2. Hey guys! I want to throw a swimbait out here on the CA Delta. I’d like to give the Huddleston a try. Can you recommend what color and size you’d throw on the Delta? Thanks. Great videos through the winter!

  3. Fished today with a friend at the California aqueduct and we agreed that both of us had never seen so many large bass in such a small area! We fished the same 100 yards of water all day from the check gates the inlet and put let drains. The spawn is differently on! We tried swim baits, Glide baits, jigs, senkos, chatter baits, square bills, lipless, brush hogs, top water and others but NO Hogs would bit! It’s so frustrating to see behemoths following my Butch brown slide swimmer but not eat it! Pleanty of 1 to 3 pounders and the occasional 4 – 5 pounder; because of sight fishing BUT NO GIANTS! You could see them clear as day today. Eye candy only! High single digits to low double digit large mouth, smallies and spottys BUT NO TAKERS 👀

  4. DPOMELLA-Central Florida
I fished a tournament in the Harris chain on 2-26 and the fish were pre spawn and actively spawning as well as post spawn. This goes on in Florida from Dec to May depending on how many cold fronts we get. During this tournament I hooked several 5 to 8 lb Bass on the bed with YUM Dinger Black blue, 3/16 tungsten and lost them due to mistakes on my part against the side of the boat. They were fun to hook none the less. Several other 2-3 lb fish on lipless and square bill and spro little johns. I will be purchasing some s-wavers for the next tournament on the Kissimee chain.

  5. I had a discussion this morning in my local bait store. Some guys complaining about the fishing and tried their best to discourage me from buying large swim baits. "You'll be best to use much smaller lures. We always catch the smaller ones so we always use smaller lures". That's literally what they kept saying. They looked dumbfounded when I said, umm you are probably catching dinks because you only use small lures? They just starred like I smacked their mama.

  6. Metro Minnesota. Love throwing white spinnerbaits no trailers/trailer hooks. Small soft swim baits like keitechs on a swimbait head. Swimjigs with trailers. Senkos in the baby bass color

  7. I’m having luck with bubble gum pink Senko, fished wacky worm. I’m on lake Conroe in Texas. Prespawn is on, going into spawn. They’ve moved shallow already. Daytime Temperature reaching into the 65-70*, but day starts in the 35-45*. Welcome to Texas!

  8. From the Bay Area, in California my top 5 prespawn baits here in non-trout reservoirs off the bank are, Shakey head w/ a trick worm, Jackhammer chatter bait, red eye shad lipless, lucky craft 1.5 square bill, and the texas rigged baby d bomb! The reservoirs here get a ton of pressure but these baits cracked the code for me.

  9. I am in Central Mississippi my top 5 lures for this time of year are 6-inch Savage gear flat sided crank spinning lure with a crawl trailer Yamamoto senko and a topwater frog

  10. I'm in upstate NY, and for the last 3 years, I've thrown only 8" Hudds, the week of ice-out, and caught GIANTS (multiple 6-8 lbers). My local lake is a 60 acre reservoir, with annual stockings of browns, and rainbows. The largemouth crush the swimbaits, along the chunk-rock dam, that 1st week.
