Its still cold but the fish are getting aggressive! Late Winter is a special time full of big bass and exciting days on the water if you know how to adapt. Sure, you can stick to the same Winter baits you’ve been throwing these past months, but you’re not doing yourself any favors. Its time to adapt, let us show you how.
A lot of anglers get confused about the transitions between late Winter and the prespawn. We’re definitely not in the prespawn yet, water temps are cold (mid-40’s in most of the country and even colder farther North) but the fish can sense the change coming and are beginning to get active despite the cold temperatures. This is the time to set the finesse rods down, pick up the reaction baits, and catch the biggest bass of the year.
We use a handful of very specific baits this time of year. We’ve broken the baits down by style and included some of our favorite models and colors for each category. Each bait is linked directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of the item. We’ve also included some of our favorite gear for throwing these baits so you’ll be prepared when the big one decides to eat your lure.

Awesome video Matt!
Can you use a jig
Great tips … surprised NO jerkbait ???????
Thanks sir
You boys need to try ice out bass fishing up here in the north east.
I'm in kansas we are still a few weeks out of late winter fishing
Yeah, we can't really use these kinds of fishing methods up here in northern Indiana quite yet. Lol. We're in the deep freeze this time of year.
i should have fished a glide bait today. went from 31° for a high to 57°. i caught my pb creek chub on a ned rig tho. it was like 12 inches. so it was still kinda cool i guess.. but i wish i would had brought a glide bait now that ive watched this. 😂
Great video Matt🎣
https://youtu.be/1pbgAOR8vZc I caught a tarpon snook and peacock bass on the same lure
Hey guys you might remember me asking a lot of questions about the Huddleston. Just thought I’d update you. I finally got one and every single thing you ever said is 💯 fact and exactly how it worked out for me. In a place where my competitors laughed at “my shark bait” the bass chew it! They have no idea what’s waiting for them now! Thanks for all the great information! I was able to tie it on and go straight to catching fish per your advice! Thanks again!
So glad you moved!!! You guys should put on a tournament or something where we could met the both of you live. Just a thought
Late winter bass fishing? That would be April, right? What sort of sick joke are you trying to play on us unfortunate northerners?
Congratulations on 400k!
Thanks for the tips, I went out to the lake today and managed to catch a carp and a bass with the swimbait!
This is the time of year to catch DONKS!
Big girls spawn first
Congratulations on hitting 400,000 subscribers! Well deserved!!!
were just hitting truck drivable ice up north here now lol its just getting started!
Why is it that in the fall to winter transition we talk about the fish pushing bait into the backs of creeks to feed on for the winter. But when it is actually winter the fish no longer have the bait in the creeks. At what point do they all move out to the mouths of the creeks?
U should do more for boatless angler
the bait is a lot, and the fish are also big, fishing is fun, enthusiastic
I haven’t caught a bass all winter here in Virginia Ive tried everything from a senko to an A rig and haven’t got one in my boat even switched to live bait for a day still nothing
Hey guys, I know that you live next to lake chickamauga and I live up here in Cincinnati if you could recommend them to go to lake Cumberland that would be a great help, thanks
