During the summer the weather gets hot, but the bass fishing is hot as well. One of the hardest things about summer fishing is know what bait you should throw.

In this video I really thought hard about all the different types of waters people fish and the different bass species and I feel like I have a list of 3 summer lures that you can use no matter where you are located!

BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass.

  1. Ok. I have to say me and 2 buddies went out twice this week to a public lk it's a very busy lake and fished hard with a lot of tournaments throughout the weeks and we was out Saturday and they were having a tournament all the boats was hitting close to shore. So we hooked up everything you talked about and stayed in the 12 to 16 foot of water. We used the walking dog bait chatterbait and the dropshot with 3ft tag and we slammed the fish and some big fish. We wasn't in the tournament but be probably could of won it. Oh and the plumb with blue flake worm . We caught fish on everything you've talked about. Your knowledge is fantastic and I want to thank you for being you. Overall the worm the chatterbait and dropshot prevailed most of all. Thank you we had a blast .

  2. "The only reason why you were able to catch that fish on that lure was because it just so happened to be what's tied on to the end of your line at the time." -Gary Klein

  3. Great video again. But, I want to ask that when fishing a drop shot in or over weeds, is it not better to use a weed less hook or a longer shank hook with a keeper and rig Texas style?
After watching your linked video to things not to do with drop shots, my question was answered about hooks and set up.
I should have known you had another great video on this technique.

  4. Hey Tyler. I just got a notification that my tip was selected as a winner. It had your logo in a link, but when I clicked on it, it took me to a channel that had no content and an 804 area code number listed in the site name. Is this you, or is somebody scamming you and me?

  5. Sup Tyler. Nailed it brother. Lost my only walking bait Tuesday. Had it long time until Mr tree ate it. I'm in RI where most Baitfish are blugills and baby perch. What do you suggest? Because they aren't in stores here, have to order them. Ty tc

  6. I’m curious as to why you put a swivel attached to the split ring. Personally when I fish my walking bait I sometimes get the braid caught up in hooks and foul up the bait completely. Is that why you use a swivel?

  7. Got a treble hook in my finger..I said emergency room buddy said try the braid trick.. braid trick popped it right out ..look it up on YouTube and learn it . YOU WILL NEED IT ONE DAY✌️

  8. Love me the top water! I will not spend another dime on a chatterbait. I've only caught one fish on a ChatterBait and it was in a farm pond where they will bite just about anything. Now that being said, I have more than a dozen. In every color you can think of and every size. from the Minimax on up. Maybe one day I will find a ChatterBait bite but until then I don't even care to hear about them.

  9. Highly recommend the Ark Slider topwater. Comes with triple grips and a feathered treble. Awesome colors. Definitely better than the Strike King, and cheaper too.

  10. Can’t argue with this list good stuff. If I were to put a 4th on this list it would be a zoom fluke white pearl very versatile I will just lift my rod up and slow crank a fluke across the top of water when they busting on bait fish it gets a lot of strikes.

  11. I like the KVD Sexy Dawg Jr. and Heddon Super Spook Jr. in the colors you mentioned (white & black) and also the chrome one with the white belly. It was my most productive lure last season. Walking the Sexy Dawg is effortless once you master the rod action.

  12. Chatterbait and topwater are always tied on and ready to go . I’ve got to admit that a drop shot isn’t a technique I use often . I just hate fishing slow . Great video as always

  13. Bruvvv for some reason black is the only topwater color that works for me. I fish both stained and clear. Although a white buzz bait works, I cant get bit on a white frog or walking bait to save my life

  14. Got a 5.5 pounder on a walking bait last week. Biggest of the year. Incredible blow up, she took drag and jumped 3 times. Maybe the best Largemouth fight I've ever had.

  15. No doubt about this list…I can also admit I’ve drifted away from the drop shot…when I first started it throwing it at 11 I was using a bullet weight pegged inbetween two split shots as a drop shot weight lol….time to go back to it!

  16. First day of fishing the summer was like 31 I live in Canada btw, snd first nice fish of the summer was on a drop shot it was a 5lb large mouth, drop shot is my #1 favourite rig to fish

  17. Only thing I can get to hit a drop shot is a damn blue gill 😂 and those are never big enough to actually take the worm. Chatter air and swim jig have been my go to here in Texas afternoon fishing, never have time to get out on an early morning topwater bite

  18. Chatterbait remains undefeated. Just got back into fishing after years, went down to my local dam, caught 2 7-10lb carp back to back. Don’t ask me how I caught them because I don’t know 😂
