Tokyo Rigging Finesse Worms | GMAN’s Stingy Bass System

Finesse fishing a worm is one of the best ways to catch bass and build confidence when the bite is tough. Gerald “G-Man” Swindle (https://wired2.fish/SwindleYouTubeChannel) shares a new twist on worm rigging using a specialized Tokyo rig equipped with a VMC Finesse Neko hook. The unique setup guarantees immediate bottom contact and the ability to straight rig worms with an exposed hook, Texas rigged, or wacky style.

On this shoot, Swindle targets bass near spring “run-ins,” aka tributary creeks. An influx of warmer water activates crawfish and draws shad and other forage to the area. While moving baits like crankbaits are his go-to, Swindle uses finesse setups as follow-up baits to determine if there’s fish in the area and maintain/build confidence. Bass will often pass on moving baits but seldom can resist a small worm fished across the bottom.

  1. I agree with the bites, I'm new to lake fishing, I finesse a lot in ponds but my confidence is way down on the Lake. Thank you, I took this to heart and will fish what I have confidence in!

  2. I think a tokyo rig is on of the most versatile setups out there. My two favorite setups are hopping around a 10in worm and slow rolling a swim bait with a few rod twitchs.

  3. Hey brother, not for nothin, but you should check your guides. The bottom one atleast was pretty squished up. I could hear it in your cast. Might keep a knot or three outta your line. Just a heads up. Outside of that, Thanks for the info.
