Why medium heavy? I find that heavy is the way to go for football jiggin?
Where did you get the sun visor for your graph?
First of all, I want to thank you for replying back – BLESS YOUR HEART! Thank you for helping us all to become better Bass Fishermen. Been out of it for 10 years, and I have a 17 feet, Corbra with the Lowrance Elite 7 HDI. I thought you looked familiar. I go out of Paris Landing most of the time. My question to you is, what depth are you focus on right now? May your Day be BLESSED!
Awesome video, thanks for the tips – have you ever fished Kentucky Lake? Look forward to seeing your next video.
What size jig do you recommend
even though they aren't giants I would still love to do that all day
Good video. I agree with most of the info except for the hookset part. I think that you need to absolutely reel set a fish on a football jig. If you set a hook really hard( on a football jig) I think you tend to loose a lot more fish than you catch. Just my two cents.
Awesome video Jason!
We were sun masks on our face and arms in the summer to limit sun exposure. We're in the sun all the time and sunscreen gets expensive so coverage is a better option in our opinion. We use Simms arm guards and Simms and G2Gemini neck gaiters.
what's up with the mask over the face, and in shorts and sandles?…at first i thought it might be a little chilly
I need a video on how to use the Lowrance elite 4x dsi. Instructions are terrible, and VERY few to no videos on how to use. Can ANYONE point me in the right direction. That is the unit on my buddies boat and we are clueless on how to use it to its fullest ability.
Great video. My strengths, proper rod reel line set up, working many different lures. Weakness, locating the schools of fish on electronics by finding humps, channels, ledges. I'm better as co angler when I fish with my BASS tour fishing partner. I can match or out catch him IF he gets us on the fish. I struggle when I travel back to Alabama and fish with my other partner, he expects that I should guide the boat due to my experience. Need advanced video on graphing deep structure. Thanks.
great video, by far the best type of fishing i like…
football head in deep water!
Very nice video learned a lot on fishing the football jig, hey what camera mount are you using on the boat!!!
Thanks, going to make it a point to perfect the jig as much as possible.
Thanks for the reply, and I will 4sure have to try this. If you guys ever need a topic for a video, I would recommend going over this tactic a little more. I know alot of guys that really have a hard time with this and would love to watch a more detailed version of how to mark, where to mark, and how to target those fish while fishing offshore. Once again thanks for the reply and video and keep up the good work!!!
I mark the school. Then when it ends on my graph, then I throw my buoy. Then I spin around and line up where the school was in relation to where I dropped the buoy. So I know it's either on the left or right of the buoy. I don't ever want the buoy right where I see the fish because you'll spend a lot of time hung up in your buoy cord. Especially if they are pulling current.
This school was very competitive. If you wait to set the hook, they spit it already. You have to feel the bite and real and set immediately. You miss them because they hit and swim so fast to keep away from the hundreds of other bass in the school. You have to use a high speed reel and stiff rod to get a good hookset in 22 feet of water with fish being so competitive. It doesn't always work unfortunately.
22-26 feet deep in these clips.
It's called a raptor cap from raptor fishing. Yes it removes the glare since I spend hours and hours staring at my graph.
I stick with basic colors like brown, green pumpkin and peanut butter and jelly. I use a Rage craw or Zoom Super Chunk most of the time.
@ 1:35 once you throw out your marker, are you just going back and throwing at the marker? I am trying to get away from "Bank Beating" and fishing more offshore. Problem is I have a hard time getting my mind around fishing in the middle w/o something to "throw" at. Thanks again for this video
