Episode #104,

#fishing #bassfishing #largemouthbass

In this episode I decided to target largemouth bass on my kayak at some local lakes. Two of the three lakes I had not fished before. I ended up having more luck with the swimbait than anything else and caught some decent largemouth between 15-16 inches. I also caught some other species such as the pickerel and a perch or two. However, the bass bite was much more consistent than it had been a few weeks earlier.

I attribute this mostly to the warmer water temperature. However, even though the bass are biting, they are not biting particularly hard like they do in the Summer. I had hooked and lost a few bass on this episode. During the spawn, bass often are less aggressive on the feed and are more interested in moving the bait than swallowing it. Often times with the Senko, without a really proper hook set, the bass get off when they jump in the air. However, that is why we love this sport and it makes it a challenge.

Overall, it ended up being a decent day on the water. Any questions, leave a comment and I will answer it.
