  1. I agree, I think Crappie is good, but many other fish are better. Trout is probably the best, people eat them the most because it makes the most sense to keep. Sunfish are too small, bass are trophy fish, walleye are rare, and catfish are seen as bottom feeders. Crappie are abundant and when your on them you can catch a whole meal for many people.

  2. Not Captain D's but Captain B's lol. Man your cool ass dude a great dad a great fisherman I'm sure a great friend and husband as well. Just a dam good person I bet you have a good Dad!!! My new favorite angler selling my KVD stuff . What they say once you go black you catch the hell out of fish or don't go back or something like that. Bless you and your family my good sir!! Please come to the original B.A.S.S. need somebody to put beat down on these dang rookies lol . Tightlines Captain B's

  3. I 100 percent agree with you B Lat as well as my wife. Crappie has the least amount of flavor. I think people mistake flavor for “gamey” whatever that means. We eat a lot of deer and fish and we like sandbass and catfish a lot better than crappie

  4. I live up north and here everyone eats perch yellow or walleye and the people who eat other stuff are usually the weirdos personally I really like bullhead catfish there very abundant

  5. Brim is the best tasting freshwater fish in my opinion. I like drum as well. Drum is known as being a trash fish but I know better than that! I'm a true fisherman. Not just a one species type fisherman, I know them all!

  6. There is nothing any better , than about 20 good sized Bream ! UNLESS ,,,,,,, It's Walleye Pike ! Me personally ,,, My Pick would be Walleye #1, Bream , Catfish and Bass !

  7. brian latimer, you nailed it, by far bream on the bone is the best eating fish, crappie is very mild, not much flavor, seems the ladies like the crappie because they are not "fishy tasting", but us old country boys want that flavor, give me the bream everytime !!!!

  8. Largemouth is actually really good… I cooked one cause me and the kids wanted to try it.. I had never actually ate one I thought it taste bad or something cause nobody ate em. I googled it said it actually wasn’t nasty.. and yeah it was VERY VERY good. I haven’t done it since but I mean I wouldn’t say no… some salt pepper garlic and I’d have to look and see the rest of the seasoning I used.. but just throwing it in a pan on the stove and wow it was actually one of the best fish I had…

  10. Here’s a video idea…come up to Minnesota and target walleyes. I respect your fishing IQ and think it would be fun to watch how you’d strategize the attack, kind of as a clean slate. Plus, there’s fantastic bass fishing here, smallies and largemouth as well as my favorite target species in my region, the leech lake strain muskies! Just a thought…

  11. Caught and ate a lot of bream as a kid at my grandparents house. That was mainly what we fished for except for a little while in the spring and caught Sand Bass (white bass). I especially liked catching Red Ear, just a lot bigger in the lakes we fished. Most of that fishing was either Lake Wright Patman or Elliot Reservoir in East Texas. We never fished for Bass, so until 2020 when I got a place on Lake Fork and bought my first boat I didn’t really fish for Bass. I was 62 in 2020, so Bass fishing is still a challenge for me and one good bite tends to be a good day but on Fork that one can be a good one. While my wife sits on our dock with Night Crawlers and catches a little bit of everything. I love landing a 5lb plus Bass and being on the water is really relaxing so I’m in search of Monster Bass and sometimes grab a spinning rod and play on the dock for fun.

  12. You are right. Crappie are not the best. Like you, I do eat a few bass too, mostly in the 12 to 13 inch class in the winter. To me, the best fish is a walleye from freshwater.
