How important is the good old wacky rig to your fishing?
Love your videos very well done
just found you a week ago and have been binge watching alot of your vidios thanks for the great ideas cant wait to try them!!!
Wacky rigs are awesome, love to Carolina rig a wacky rig as well. My favourite worm to do any kind of fishing with is like a zoom trick worm over a stick bait but stick baits definitely have their purposes. Zoom makes great products caught dang near countless fish on trick worms, horny toads and lizards. Won a few small tournaments with zoom products as well. Great stuff in this video, look forward to more content. Shout out from Canada
Just ordered some wilder colors for spring — it's gotta get here sometime!
Love the cutting tip and everything else!
I've used a wacky rig with a Carolina rig to sink it down. Put a bait float before you tie on the hook so it sinks fast, but the bait suspends back quickly when twitched.
Make it even better by replacing the o-ring with a piece of an old plastic tube of the same color. Cut tube to size of an abdomen and thread worm through the tube and hook as with an o-ring. You'll have better results and the tube will last longer than the o-ring!
I add a nail weight to each end of my senko style worm. They get me more distance and a faster sink rate. I also pr
e bend my worms to make em more limber. Wacky on drop shot works better for skinny worms. Use a straw for skinny worms so they don't tear easy. I use Gamakatsu weedless wacky hooks. Size 1/0 or larger. The small hooks are harder to get the weed gard situated. Keep the weed gard in front of the barb or your hook up ratio will suffer. Thanks for video and bait tips.
I discovered the wacky rig about 15 years ago before it became well known and commonly used. My fishing partner and I won several local tournaments using it before the FFS phase. I actually went several fishing seasons where this was the bass fishing technique used 90 percent of the time. Once the wacky rig became better known and more often used the bass became familiar with the technique and less successful. I live in Canada and have the fortunate opportunity to fish remote lakes that are seldom fished and difficult to access. When fishing these lakes I always use the wacky rig pattern and have incredible results with the less educated bass. I still use this technique as a proven catch method when nothing else is working.
thanks for showing this, i barely catch stuff when i use lures but i might try some of these methods
Great video with good tips, I used to use tube baits with pieces of alkaline seltzer tablets with a small piece of tooth pick to hold it in the tube. It worked pretty good but I never thought of doing the wacky rig style which might be better because they way the hook goes it would hold the tab piece in the tube without having to use a tooth pick. I use wacky alot and your tricks are getting results!
Greetings from Monterrey Mexico
It is important to me LowBrow I love using them thanks you sir
I'll go down to 3 inch Dinger and make it 2 1/2 or smaller just work in the spring. I've made them to 1 inch before to get them to bite. The color's are spot on Yum and cheep.
We fish the tube this wacky rig way going for perch. Works really good. Really enjoyed your video! Greatings from Germany!
A Z-MAN worm on a weighted wacky hook.
I'm always looking for new ways to wacky rig, I like the tube idea I always see them on sale around here since no one buys them lol
also is that a bit of cauliflower ear? wondered if you wrestled or something
The Crossover Rings are excellent for the wacky and ned rigs they don't tear up or put holes in your worms
Longer shank hook insures deeper hookup & less chance of loss as compare to the high loss rate of the short shank hooks
It is my #1 bait I use it always catches me fish and I usually start out with other baits and when I'm not getting bit the Wacky Rig Watermelon Red Flake is always my go to bait. Thanks LowBrow one of favorite videos on this topic

35 years ago, me and a buddy used to fish a plastic fry bait wacky style. No weight, hooked in the middle. Fishing as a top water bait. Can't remember what brand. It looked like a 4 inch catapilla, with small air holes on the bottom of fry. It was a light brownish/ yellow color. Caught a lot of fish. Glad I saw this video. Now , I'm going to try fishing a fry again wacky style. Hadn't done it in years. Thanks to your video, it reminded me.
I also use a drop shot hook for wacky rig. I like the action with the eye at that angle on the hook. Last couple weeks ive been killing it getting the last winter stock trout and early pre spawn bluegill/bass with a small natural or orange powerbait trout worm wacky rigged on a size 8 salmon egg hook weightless on my ul rod
was an on the spot idea that just worked i just have to sight fish with it cause leader is long enough i cant eaaily watch for line moving
As a young man, I have used a floating bubblegum worm across the tops of grass beds from the bank amd WOW, the action was AWESOME!! Thanks for the great video!!
Have you people have something against playing a fish? One day there will be electric reels then you can skip them across the water!
I once watched a video where a guy put a foam ear plug inside of a tube. Then he threaded the tube on a hook and used it as a topwater twitch bait. It seemed to work.
I only use one color BLACK. i found it to work best of all.
What if you took a fluke and put some red yarn, just a few strands and put it in the bait around the gill area to look like a bleeding bait fish.
Great video!!! Awesome tips!!!! Learned some new things to try!!! Question: What size tube to you suggest to use?? Like that idea & want to try it!! Stay Safe & God Bless!!

Fish cant see color
Totally agree with the colors! I have had some really good days in the spring with “loud” color patterns. Seems like every angler on the lake is throwing a wacky rig and it’s fun to show them something a little different.
What length spinning rod do you usually use??
I need to try the tube wacky rig, thanks LB!
Deadly!

Enjoyed the video.. I’m in South Alabama (Delta area).. I’m definitely going to try that tube idea.. can you go into a little more detail about the bitsy bug wacky?.. I’d like to see how that works- thanks !
