My Profile:
http://www.mattstefanfishing.com/

I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I’ve been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I’ve qualified for seven MLF Championships and won over a half million in tournament winnings at the professional level.

  1. Is it legal in tournaments to us a large football head jig as your weight and then tie a leader to it and add a hook to use your favorite soft plastic to fish it like a Carolina rig? I would think that would be considered fishing 2 lures at the same time but I have never heard a definite answer.

  2. Matt, thanks for this video. I really makes sense what you are saying here. Truelly one of the very fishing channels out there. Can i ask you something off this topic? Here in South Africa the water in the farm dams i fish is extremely hot currently and we have been struggling to catch fish. What can i do? I have slowed down a lot casted to as deep as i can from the bank, and still struggle to get them to bite. I thought of waiting for a month until the water cools down but i will be insane by then if i had not been fishing!!

  3. Do you know of any company that sales a wobble head jig skirt and all made. I have one that is a swim jig style head, but wobble head. I want more but I think the one I got I bought from a small bait maker at a boat dealership.

  4. Hey Matt I’m definitely trying that here on lake simcoe in Ontario. The goby population has exploded over the years. When I run the 2 3/8 paddle tail in goby colour I use the Ryugi small hobbit offset in a home made gika rig

  5. I started doing this in the fall when I made a few swing heads with my do it mold without a hook. I just ran a creature and had success. Can’t wait to play with some of your ideas👍

  6. Hey Matt, not sure if you remember a while back on one of your wobble head videos I commented about using smaller weight wobble heads for shaky heads, cause it gave me better options in hooks and baits (especially fishing the shaky head capitol, the Coosa River). I started doing about the same when I find the bottom is full of muck and debris and a worm/ bait can get lost. Works great for that. Thank you never thought much about going heavier with it…. Great Tip, Thank you.

  7. I have been fishing my public pond that just unfroze and I have not caught anything yet i was wondering what bait I should start using to hopefully catch largemouth? Love your channel!!!

  8. If you want an idea for something that the market is definitely missing it is a shakeyhead style jighead that is attached to the hook the same way as a wobblehead is. I use one of the only ones that isn’t football or baitfish head shaped. The problem with what I use ( Arkie U-bolt swinging head) the design of the wire that attaches the hook to the jig head is elongated and allows the weight to get trapped against the wire at an odd angle and not allow freedom of movement for the hook ( which btw is a normal thin wire offset worm hook). Maybe you can improve on this design or you know of a better product that works for finesse fishing small worms and craws.
