  1. You can net your fish and use an a-rig in most, if not all, local/ amateur tournaments, but not at the "pro" level. Why is that? FFS does not belong in any tournaments, especially pro level tournaments. When an 18, 19, or 20 year old kid can be knocking on the door of breaking records set by KVD or Aaron Martens, there is a problem. Or how about this, when a social media influencer that has a lot of experience playing video games but only fished for fun decides to try out FFS and wins a couple of bassmaster elite trophies. Really? Let's be honest, it's because of the technology, not the "fishing skills " they have learned and developed. Maybe this next statement is a little out there, but as far as not hurting our lakes and fish populations. It will. Nature can not keep up with more and more people catching daily limits on a daily basis. If you believe that nature can and the lakes will take care of themselves, then can anyone tell me the last time that a passenger pigeon was seen?

  2. So just make two different tournament trails/series’s. Have one series with FFS and one series without FFS. Then the pros can choose which one they want to fish, depending on their stance on FFS. Truth be told, FFS is here to stay, whether you like it or not. It is what it is at this point.

  3. May as well go ahead and change the name also. You aren’t fishing anymore, so let’s just call it MLC, major league catching. So then when those guys are leaving to go out, they can ask, hey hun, I’m going “Catching” how many do you want me to bring home this time? Again, if they want to keep FFS, it should be a totally separate organization, let those guys compete among themselves and see who can read a screen better, and who’s back can hold out the longest standing in one spot for hrs. That way if you are all in, go ahead and use it. But they need to go back to the minimalist electronics again, 1 maybe 2 up front and console, no hydra wave nothing else. If you can’t catch fish with that, maybe fishing should not be your day job. I’m sure there are many reasons no one has done it yet, but of course the one main one is yea, the ole mighty dollar. Pretty sad really, before you could really look up to those guys that could go out and find and catch the fish, much like any other sport you watch, guys with a special talent you can admire.😊That is pretty much gone. Even the guys you do admire now have to use it, hating to do so the whole time I don’t know what the answer is, should or will be, but it needs to be done soon, before it gets any worse, and yea, it’s going to get worse, that new pointer rod is just the tip of the iceberg, just wait.

  4. Just like the current bait companies are capitalizing on ffs technology, you have been capitalizing on bashing ffs and will continue to beat this dead horse that has been killed 10 times over until it stops making you money on YouTube 😂

  5. I can't afford ffs so I just put fish in my swimming pool so I can see the fish and how they react to each bait. Once my pool is fished out, I'm taking my rod to Kroger's and tie my credit card to the line make a pinpoint cast over the seafood counter and see what I can catch.

  6. Well said Randy. Sad to see what's happening with FFS and especially tournament fishing, it's getting unwatchable. Unfortunately, it seems we're losing the next generation, and by the time my kids' kids are old enough, they won't even be interested in fishing if FFS isn't on the boat. As you've mentioned in the past, pro golf did this right – they faced very similar challenges with advancing tech and were unflinching when it came to putting very real limitations on equipment over the last 15-20 years. They faced the same pushback from manufacturers but it didn't affect them hardly at all – they just did the right thing, and the manufacturers were forced to work within the Tour's restrictions. There's no reason the FFS manufacturers couldn't do the same thing – if the limitations are put out there by the tournament organizations, they'll obey them…they won't have any choice, and they'll find ways to be profitable within the new paradigm.

  7. Sonar companies are just like Apple etc. technology is forever changing and improving. Unfortunately the good old days are over, nobody hand cranks a passenger window anymore it’s electric. All I can say is get onboard or get left behind!! 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️🎣

  8. Randy, I'm with you 100%! I will continue to contact those in the industry promoting ffs. Last I checked, Email contact info is available on bassmaster and mlf websites. Not to mention calling or emailing Berkley or strike king etc…

  9. The old days of fishing are gone. Time marches on. Man will seek profits over the goodness of the world we live in, just look at the houses we build till there is nothing left but concrete.
There is no way the sonar companies are going to reverse technology till the demand goes away.

  10. Well now hang on…. You “saw a picture of a frog.” Were you there?? Did you see other things?? There were a great number of things not FFS related that I intend on purchasing. From clothing, items for my boat, items for my tow vehicle, & items for our pontoon boat. Seems like you had a pretty narrow view Randy.
