Fishing a roadside prairie pothole lake for northern pike! This is a new lake to me so let’s see if we can figure those fish out and catch a few!

Hell yeah ND Yak!
Watching NDYakAngler while visiting ND. Good stuff!
Love the channel!!
I've never done squat with a chatter bait… glad to see someone making it work! On the spinner bait/pike relationship, I can't get over how often white with a red trailer or red with a white trailer just slays the pike bite!
Happy Fishing and God Bless You my Friend!
First time I caught a pike on a Whopper Plopper, that 2:54 was exactly how it hit it. Startled the heebity jeebies out of me. It was right then that I also realized I absolutely love topwater river fisihing as my favorite kind fishing. Now I'm in a new state far from the Midwest and any Smallies and I have to relearn all new and different techniques. I am seriously thinking of starting a new channel and documenting my transition to the south and salt water fishing.
What swivel do you use for your plopper? My mustad stay lock seems to turn the plopper sideways when reeling in.
gotta love a pike bite on the chatterbait.
Hey Matt i was just wondering how you put the camera onto your hat. Great video im excited to see what you post next on Saturday
Hadir pendatang baru kawan keren spotnya mancing sukses slalu salam fishing salam sehat selalu ❤❤❤❤❤
2:54 it’s like a great white shark catching a seal! 😂
As always, another fantastic trip! The water I fish has stocked tiger musky to knock down the high perch population. It also has a very healthy large mouth bass population, which is my normal target. After hooking up with some tigers here and there on bass gear, I decided to add a musky rod. I've noticed in a couple of your pike videos, the white chatter bait seems to do very well. You have had success with both pike and musky, so would you recommend white as a decent "go to" color since tigers are a mix of both? The reservoir I fish is very heavily weeded, and the tigers have plenty of cover, so this video was especially helpful me. Thanks again for what you do. Your videos provide great content and learning.
Awesome video, but where is the walleye?
Thanks again. Good work.
Thanks, Matt, I really enjoyed watching you catch those pike, thought they weren't huge, the action was still really nice! Take care and be safe!
Hey Matt, if you ever want to come north to Manitoba, let me know, we'd love to have you do a tour. Minnesota as 10,000 lakes, we have 100,000. 😉
I was fishing a rocky point throwing around a white spinnerbait kind of similar to this. I had a small one give me a pretty good scare as he smoked it a foot away from shore.
As always fantastic Matt
Thank you 👍🏼🎣🍻
Is there any chance we could see you walleye fish? I know it’s not your usual species but I learn from watching you fish
Great stuff as usual, sir.
Just out of curiosity, what state are you fishing in?
2:57 Wonderful, this fish is also very energetic.
Where is this place also you earned yourself a sub
That first blowup was SICK….anytime you can get like on a top water it’s a darn good time
I've been watching your videos for a few years now and I've always wondered how you only catch the fish tou target. I get that sometime you catch a pike while fishing for bass but never bass while targeting pike. I do not understand.😅
Awesome day IMO and great action!
Keep a roll of cohesive bandage with you for the pike cuts, this cuts can bleed for hours, the cohesive bandage just sticks to itself and stops you from making a mess on your kayak, rods, clothes. Keep it going. Love your videos, so relaxing to watch 🤜🏼🤛🏼
I found the spillway. I found the spillway (sang in a cocky tone)
Best fishing channel bro, but hey you fish different than fish from different lakes and rivers does that mean they are not mixed or what , eg, smallies you normally fish them in rivers are they not found in lakes also
The kind of day that makes the great days great
Good vids, man!
You do what you do honestly.
No low drag and yelling about slabs.
Just good content.
I appreciate your efforts.
I know this spot. North of Texas but a little south of Canada but central of East and west I believe
I especially like watching you fish for Muskie! But Northerns will do.
Another fun video from you. No bass bycatch there? Pike can’t be the only thing swimming in there, can they?
YOOOOOOOOOOOOO PikeMang ! ! ! ! ! ! ! 👋🥸…
6:12
Dude , that is only 1 for 4 landed… did you forget how to fish Jacks or what??? lol 😝😝🤪🤣…
13:58
Matt , you always fish that area along the road an the largest pike are always up there… maybe try a williams wobbler (silver/gold colored) for that murky water mid day bite…
it stays far enough under the water to attract the musky/pike and you dont need a fast retrieve like other spoons..
the wobbler with a slow/medium retrieve keeps itself afloat… not good in weeds but if you can figure the retrieve speed you can keep that lure just at the top of the weeds
an those pike cant resist… especially those big pike that like to relax midday… jus sayin 🤷♂🤷♂🤷♂…
the funny thing is… since i found your channel, out of all the videos ive watched where you target pike/musky.. i cant remember you ever using spoons 😕😕😕…
y19:00
you dont need to wait till spring or fall… get yourself a williams wobbler, i swear you wont ever wanna use anything else during cloudless hot days in murky waters … no bullshit 😁…
this was sooooooooo good bruh…
see you on the next one an stay safe out there..
buh bye from Central Canada 👋🤓
p.s
i had to EDIT cause i forgot to add.. i was keepin track an your land to bite ratio was 5/9 …
terrible numbers for you imo , lol… you musta had an off day eh lol…
and to top it off.. you was trying to make some mutant pike by releasing your DNA into the lake.. pfffft 😮💨lol…
Always good to see your video's
I’ve never had luck with chatter baits.
Doing some vicarious fishing at 2125 to take my mind off some heavy stuff. I had to put my dog down today.
Thanks for the adventure and calm out there Matt. Glad to see you with the pedals again.
