Great achievement and a fantastic looking fish to,but i know a place that leads into the the river Trent, from the river tame which was once the most polluted river in the UK and Europe,the river Anchor meets up with the river tame then it Tamworth the goes on to enter the Trent at Alrewas,and that stretch of river tame i fish but only in winter because virtually you will not catch much or anything at all during the summer even a roach or dace or a bleak,but come the winter it's a total different story because were i fish becomes absolutely stuffed with fish,and people say fish go deeper in the winter total myth when I've had bags of roach on the whip in less than 3 feet of water in the winter to on the tame,they are not big roach probably 8 oz the max and I've had up to 16 lb in four hours,but i would love to know where the big roach are,but the is a couple of pegs I've had 50 lb plus of of chub on the stick float if not more and that's in four hours or so, I've never caught a barbel from there but had two on but just fishing with just 3 to 4 lb line you haven't got much chance they just swim past you like they are not even hooked and some how spit the hook,so my mate just decided to target the barbel that winter while i was happy catching roach and chub and he did eventually get three a barbel at 12lb something and one at 14 plus,but then he hooked into something big because he called me and i landed for him just about because it tipped the scales at 18lb 6 ounces and that's no bull shit mate,but sadly that mate of mine as since sadly past away 👍
