We really don't know how color looks to a bass we only really know what appeals to them in certain conditions
Spike it markers are a good idea but I wish they’d stop making their dye using acetone. I’ve done side by side tests and even compared to similar colored permanent markers they get bit less. They work great at changing color I just feel like they could do so using chemicals that are less of a put off for a bass’s sense of smell/taste.
I’m a tinkerer as well Randy, I’ve also found trimming the sides of the tail slightly can alter the swim of the tail, changing it from a wide wobble to a tighter shimmy. This I think is better than having to carry a separate swimbait type that has the different action.
i believe it looks more natural with the modification to me i could be wrong
Great info and thanks for sharing.
Here you go Randy. I've spent a little time studying vision and it turns out that bass see chartreuse as pink. So the bloodline tip absolutely makes sense 🤔
I've even "spiked" the thin edge of the tail. Or a black edge to imitate baby bass. 🫢
Give is the juice in one video Randy! Show us the head with mods you would put that on and the conditions youd throw it in then another!
5:02 Dang. That is a fish catching difference
Great stuff Randy and I did get some of these markers and the added scent is an extra bonus to the modification. Thank you!!
Why not just throw a chartreuse Keitech?
