My Profile:

I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I’ve been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I’ve qualified for seven MLF Championships and won over a half million in tournament winnings at the professional level.
Lol that'll never stay in there if a fish jus hits the rear part man. The parks in th bait are for nail weights, I hope no one fail for this and destroyed their bait
Do you have a problem with the back hook fouling the lure?
I've thought about doing this and also doing nail weights. Do you have a treble hook size you recommend? Also do you have any nail weight placement recommendations and not kill the action?
Hey Matt, what size treble are you running?
Curious Matt. Was that a 9" Nessie? I m looking at a 7 incher from my box and it looks pretty skinny in that area. Love the idea.
I've caught a bunch of 6 to 9lb fish on glides on Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn my luck I'd hook a 10+ pounder on that back hook and it would tear out… Luckily I live close enough to saltwater so I'd go try to catch a couple redfish and see how it holds up because if it works it would definitely be a good mod. Why didn't they put that hook there in the 1st place??
Thanks for the tip. I've been thinking about getting one and giving one a try myself
Sounds like a recipe for disaster matt
Do you use it on the 5” version?
New mic sounds good!
Great content as always Matt .. thanks for your expertise
This looks like something I need to try, thanks for the tip Matt!!!
Sounds like an update is going to be coming on Nessie!
Interesting
what the hell where you smoking when you made this video.
its April 26th , not April 1st!
I only wish Tackle Warehouse would get with the program. I'd love to support the channel, but I'm too impatient to wait 8 to 10 days for shipment. Place an order at 10 a.m. Monday morning and you don't even get the email saying they received your order until wednesday. Literally just about every other place you order from your package would be there on Wednesday. if not Thursday for sure. I'm sorry. I guess that was a little rant because I would love to, but I just can't do Tackle Warehouse. when I need something, I need it right off. My apologies. Great tip though
I’ve been added a barrel swivel and then putting the barrel swivel into the hook hanger so the front hook dangles.
Much better hook up ratio.
I’m going to try this tomorrow
Hey Matt. I watch all the time. Love the channel. Not sure if you're under the weather or not, but your audio sounds a bit off to me. Keep it up. I'm pulling for you to get a W on the BPT this year!
Great info!
Nessie is my new favorite swimbait. I don’t even look at the Chad Chad anymore the Nessy does it all and at that price I don’t cringe chucking it at rocks and docks lol no way that really holds? Yikes . Maybe a little superglue before you screw it in.? definitely going to try it for my tournament this weekend. Was hoping that is going to be a big player for me.
Awesome idea. What size screwlock did you use?
Got the chance to meet Keith today at the Covered Wagon. He snuck in for a cleanup before practice.
Good luck out there Matt. be safe,it’ll be a windy one.
Thank you
Great Tip Matt.

Extra strength maybe a piece of fishing line that attaches the back split ring to the front split ring.
Raid Japan has really good soft glide bait. It comes with a stinger treble tied to the front hook, that's the way I would do this one.
Unrelated to this video, but your jerk bait tips have helped me quite a bit. While the treble hooks are maddening sometimes, it has become one of my favorite ways to fish.
Matt you would think for the price of baits these days you would not have to modify them in any way to make them better. These bait co.spend so much time on making and testing these baits you would think they would be good to go.
If you push a toothpick or paperclip thru the twistlock eye, that might reenforce the hook a little more if you can get the eye into the bait.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing.
Looks good I'll have to try that

Cool tip, I'm sure it'll help keep a fish pinned
nice tip thanks for sharing
Good tip Matt
I fished a tournament at Dale hollow last weekend and had so many followers on this bait. It was crazy. Only 3 committed and only landed one. It was a really nice smallmouth though.
Hmmmm … it does seem a bit too risky, at least for how I use them. I fish big swim baits all the time given where I fish because of the population of giant trophy largemouths available and the Nessie is extreme.y effective, right up there with the Magdraft but there are no smallmouth or spots here. I don't think I'm willing to risk hooking that fish of a lifetime and then have the stinger pull out. As I'm sure you are well aware, once bass get around 7 lbs and up the amount of pressure they can put on the line is extraordinary …
Tie a piece of braid from the front hook hanger to the stinger hook
Thanks Matt , Scary . Remind me : What colors for tannic water ?
