I’ve been hesitant to put out a video on this bait because I’ve wanted to keep it a secret for so long. I finally gave in.

For the 50 years I have bass fishing, it has been said that artificial baits represent some type of minnow, or a craw. I learned that minnows and craws are just a readily available "ho hum" food, and everything else is a delicacy…. so why match the hatch of a "ho hum" food, when delicacies are all sizes and shapes and primarily one color?
Now you did it! There are tons of guys out there, that have sworn the Ned is a sissy bait, and would never touch it. They still won't admit it, but after this video they will sneak out and try it. You really opened the door buddy,… when they figure out the color deal, it will be all over!
Say it ainโt so ๐
My problem with ned rig is everyone that does video as far as fishing one, they treat it like a jig or Shakey head…. my question to you is do you follow Ned kadhi (spelling). He claims he reels it slow mostly, not hop it
It is Charlie Brewer Slider Fishing
Iโm for sure gonna flip that weedless one more in lay downs. Just switch stuff up
They are fun here in the north country ๐
What weight in the offset head?
Thanks for sharing, I've been hard headed, I need to get me some ned rigs!
i love owner and trokar hooks they are the sharpest
I reel that ocho through the water column , really slow, for smallmouth. They just load up on it. Seems like, on my lake, they want to hit something moving.
Looking at the Pro TI rods. I prefer a 6'10" rod. Can you give us your explanation of 'fast' vs. 'extra fast' and how the 6'10" differs from the 7'0"
I still have a hard time believing this but a ned rig was the most consistent bait this summer night fishing for me. How they find it the dark blows me away.
You can't go wrong on owner hooks, I've been using them ever since the neg rig came out, because I had a hard time with the shroom hooks from zman, I started with the open hook type but when I changed to texas style my bites increased big time, I've been using the finesse ball head jig 2/0 3/16, it's made just like the blockheads but with a ball, & I use a baitcaster with 15lb flurocarbon, & it does great, I've caught over 100 bass in one area several times, on the tn river!๐๐ฃ
I like the weedless blockhead but the 1/16 owner finesse football head is my favorite for small creatures and Ned baits. The 45ยฐ vertical line makes it come through grass so well itโs absurd. Its completely replaced my traditional shaky heads as well.
I love the Ned in the cooler waters of the Fall and Winter. I have only used the ZMan Finesse TRD though. It sounds like you get plenty of fish with the Ocho but, I like the fact that the TRD stands straight up and, I feel like that action is unbeatable.
Love the videos and I am learning a ton, but i would like more on the water teaching if you can.
You just made Matt Pangracs year. ๐ข
Ned rigs have been a "secret" since the early 1990's
You contine to drop the most informative videos of anyone producing fishing content!
Todd I need you to take his down the block head is hard enough to get as it don't need more trying to get
The front deck of your boat when you was showing fishing footage looked like mine last weekend on Toledo. I had rods all over the place… LOL
Todd, so what you're saying is, stock up on the Owner offset Blockhead. Since you're letting the cat out of the bag, they will soon be on backorder like the Haymaker… ๐
My go to for ned rig is a micro tube on a swing head ned. They almost always bite that no matter what situation is. Don't throw small baits like that alot though. Rather catch a big on a swimbait…
Didnt I see you and one of your buddies horse laughing at people using these kind of baits not long ago on one of your videos ?
We have a similar fishing rod to that for flies, and it's not a long rod but it's a lot stronger. Some refer to them as Pike or Musky rods.
Hey Todd! Iโm a finesse guy at heart, so love the Ned. My problem is I have too many baits. lol. However is the spring my fav is trd bugz on a ewg 1/8. I like owner blockhead, but my fav is the Flatlands tackle ewg.
If it helps catch more fish, then by all means, we need to ban the ned rig. We need to get on the "ban it wagon". Just kidding. I've never fished a ned rig.

Off-topic question;
Whatโs your thoughts on contingency payout for team events? Say youโve got the boat that you get the contingency check for, you paid the hundred thousand dollars for the boat, do you still split the contingency check with your partner?
Throw a ned rig around points and docks at Lake Norman and you can catch fish allllll day. Gotta have elaztech though, save you some money.
Hypermag drag system is the best in the lineup, period.
When the bite goes Ned rig, I go to crappie. Lol
Good stuff
Does it work in stained water say 1โ to 2โ visibility
Weedless EWG Ned head with a five inch junebug speed worm is my back-up go to on my spinning rod
