They Wouldn’t Stop Biting… (Headwaters Lake Bass Fishing)

Headwaters Lake (Fellsmere Reservoir) in Florida is one of the best bass fishing lakes in the country—and on this trip, the swim jig bite was absolutely unreal. Fishing heavy hydrilla grass, I was able to dial in a pattern where the bass just wouldn’t stop biting… and it led to one of the biggest fish of the trip.

Every year, my dad and I make this trip down to Florida to fish Headwaters Lake, and this day turned into one of those you don’t forget. Non-stop action, aggressive strikes, and a giant bass that crushed the swim jig near deeper water.

If you’re looking to catch big bass in Florida grass lakes, a swim jig can be one of the most effective techniques—especially when bass are feeding around hydrilla edges and baitfish.
