Most anglers will tell you to stop using wide wobbling crankbaits and only us flat sided crankbaits in cold water. But I’m here to tell you sometimes it’s the other way around! Make sure you support todays presenting sponsor by downloading the Deep Dive app! https://deepdiveapp.com/

My Profile:
http://www.mattstefanfishing.com/
I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I’ve been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I’ve qualified for seven MLF Championships and won over a half million in tournament winnings at the professional level.
Headhunter Firetail craw is another good one for those who can’t get a real wiggle wart.
Strike king has a new one out called the gravel dawg that fits right in there. I know you're a Berkeley guy but you mentioned the hybrid hunter 😉 the curve 55 from 6th sense is another good wart type bait
SHIMANOのMacbeth CrankでもCOLD WATERに効果的ですかね~🤔まぁあれはSQUAREBILL CRANKになりますが😅でもWIDE ACTIONです🙌
Do you prefer one money badger size over the others?
Thank You! Wife said I have to get her the pint crankbait. She probable catch more fish with it then I will. 🙂
Hi, Matt. I've been watching your videos for a few years, and it's time I ask….whats the deal with that 3 foot Rapala over your left shoulder? I can't be the only one who is drawn to it and speculates internally on its existence. Thanks for all you do.
Thanks for the tips Matt 👍
Thanks Matt! Awesome videos and live the fact that even with all the comments/questions you reply. Very time consuming I'm sure but awesome that even as you grow you continue to personable and reachable with questions. Out here in CA on the spot lakes I've had some of the best days on a 5xd with my guides freezing over and catching quality and numbers of fish. Not a traditional "wide wobbling" bait but slightly deeper and works very well on spots out here in the winter
Thanks for sharing Matt
Recently I saw a video about speed cranking. Since then I have been catching some really nice fish 4lbs and over with a Tactical DD and a 10xp in low 50s water so the wide wobbling baits make a lot of sense. Thanks for all the videos. Glad you made it to the bigs. See you tomorrow.
Another great video Matt! Thanks
Thanks Matt for all your doing , your videos are so informative, love em
🍺Thanks Matt. The original warts “hunt” better due to non precise manufacturing. The two half’s of the bait that were glued together were not lined up evenly making a visible ridge on top of the bait which causes the bait in today’s world to “hunt” better. The newer ones are manufactured with molds/machines that are much more precise causing the bait to run “true”. You can make any crank bait “hunt” better if you so choose by simple applying a super glue gel bead to the top of your bait slightly off center.🤠
Had to watch this1 twice. Thanks Matt
The Mag Lip casts like crap, but has good hunting action, and I catch those green things often while trolling a Mag Lip for trout.
Here’s a tongue twister. Say “Wider Wobbling Wiggle Wart”, 3 times real fast.
Hunting action is great for the bank guys, too, because no two cast are alike, and the bait runs a different path back to the rod tip every time. Very helpful when you have minimal or difficult casting spots to begin with and are forced to make the same cast over and over. I'm curious if you have had any any success with the winter speed cranking Tactical talks about?
So do squarebills. This channel said KVD squarebills were good. I said below average. He then says he's now curious. I gave him three hints; 1. Cheap 2. Swims like a Hybrid Hunter 3. It comes in the favorite striper color (not a striper). When I said squarebills have to swing wide, they mocked me. Why is it okay for you or these YTubers to say it but not me? That's odd to me. In the end, I will be found to be right. I said to Uncle Neng yesterday that these YT gurus are bums. He agrees given how much he watches them and he claims to be a great fisher. I've also told Tas Muas this to which he reluctantly agrees. Lol. Guess I'm right again. They really need to give me my credits where they are due.
👍👍👍👍👍
For me, what the Money Badger has over the the Wiggle Wart and Rock Crawler is that super slow rise, almost a suspending bait like a jerkbait. Burn it three or four reel turns, let it hit off a rock and then pause, and it just hangs there almost like a jerkbait–it's become a staple for me in colder water.
Thanks Matt , Its getting time .
I agree 100%. None of them work very good on top of 2 feet of ice but in the Spring when the water is cold I will alternate and have caught fish on both wide wobbling and the flat sided Baits.
Wow, your videos are very popular with people who have an ass for their profile photo😂😂 seriously though I picked up some of those money badgers last year and while I didn't get a lot of time to play with them I liked what I saw and can't wait for spring to be able to try them more, unfortunately I don't think they will fish well through the ice lol I was playing with the really small size and if you almost jig it or give it upward pops with the rod during the retrieve you can make it do some crazy stuff that I bet would produce a strike.
