My Profile:
http://www.mattstefanfishing.com/
I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I’ve been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I’ve qualified for seven MLF Championships and won over a half million in tournament winnings at the professional level.
What do you throw those small crankbaits on???
Does Tackle Warehouse sell the toenail square a? LOL I remember that video that was fun
Here in Northwest ohio a Grasshopper crankbait catches small mouth , large mouth , Crappie and pike
I need one of those baby griffons!
Love this advice Matt! I've caught some of my biggest bass in Texas on really small crankbaits. An 8 pounder on 1.5'' Rapala micro crank, 25 lb limit and 7 lb kicker on a 6th sense crush 25x, and a bunch of 5-6's on a Duo Realis Mid Roller 40. Here's a link to the 8 lber on the micro crank. https://youtu.be/lZfmYycg72A Most of those crazy days came in the fall here!
I do really well with the Matzuo NanoCrank. The only problem with these lures is that some of them dont swim right and need to be tuned out of the box.
Most are blowout galore and bass-jumping-the-hook galore. Thank me later.

Totally awesome thanks!
Wish you would have caught the zombie blind bass on the toenail bait. Thanks for the good tips you give us
Kvd 1.5?
I've caught most of my bigger bass with smaller cranks and jerkbaits. Pointer 78SP has done me real well. Also, the LC Amigo 5/16oz JB in MS Ayu for smallmouth is a killer. I work that like a shallow diving crank rather than a JB. The LC LVR mini, too 👍
My PB walley was on a 1.0 Strike King square bill. 28" eye in a small southern Ohio river. I'll never do that again.
Hey Matt, what's that dock tie up you were showing the other day? Tight lines.
Have you ever tried the smaller Rapala Risto Rap? It catches fish like crazy. They don't make these anymore but I still have a dozen or so I still use.
Ark CM36 is great
I use to catch a pile of fish on small cranks, another good one is the Lucky Craft RC 0.5 size square bill . That is another bite getter in addition to the ones you already mentioned.
I won several tournaments in my Bass Club especially when the conditions were tough and typically on the river systems in Virginia.
I throw a ton of tiny cranks, and usually replace the trebles with inline singles. Ii get way more hookups and rarely have a lost fish. Also, will play with hook size to get neutral bouyancy.
Matt, I appreciate your hard work in our hobby. What color is your Megabass Baby Griffon?
Great info Matt as always
Because I carry way more with me when I fish than I will ever use I decided recently with top water time coming to eliminate my squarebill box for some room. I swear though just yesterday I was questioning that choice and was thinking alot about the smaller ones in particular after seeing on someones video (may have been Randy) about trying smaller baits. Now that you did this video I think you guys got me to the point where I am becoming alot more confident in my bait choices and I thank you for that. Keep the videos coming. Love that toe nail bomber🤣🤣🤣
