The WORST Named Technique in BASS FISHING

In this fishing video we talk about one of the worst named fishing techniques for bass called stroking. It’s a technique you can use with almost any fishing lure – a swimbait, chatterbait, jig – to trigger fish in fall and winter that anglers struggle to catch. I show you my fishing rod and reel setup for stroking swimbaits and jigs as well as what type of fishing line to use and why. This is a great technique to trigger bass to react when cooler water temperatures or tough conditions prevail on the lake or when bank fishing.

  1. Hi Mickey, came home today with jigs and swim baits that you use. Yes, we went to the Tackle Warehouse in Sebring and went crazy over all their stuff. Name brand items so I knew they were in touch with real bass fisherman. (we saw your video on this place). Again. this is Roger from Crooked Lake.(Babson Park). Keep it up Mickey. You are the real PRO in my book. You try to make a better fisherman in us while you enjoy the sport yourself. If you ever get in the area, try Bridgemasters in Lake Wales on s.r. 60 across from Walmart. It is called the "CANDY STORE" for bass fisherman. It is much bigger than the Sebring store. Chuck, the store manaqer is a flippin nut. He is a guide for Kissimmee down the road. A man in Winter Haven owns the store but we never see him. Chuck runs the store, a real nice man. They carry all the name brand bates and some homemade stuff that is really cool. Worth looking in to. Be safe, we love ya.

  2. very interesting and educational , thanks for the great videos they help me out a lot , will you make a winter soft swimbait fishing video please , i'm experimenting with the sk rage swimmer 3.75 on a weighted 5/0 ewg twist lock keeper hook

  3. Dude I watch a lot of youtubers and I honestly think you are the best. I would like to see you vs Scott again. I think you would easily take your hat back this go round!

  4. Stroking is a killer technique! Clearer water it really shines. I have had a lot of success even in water temps as low as 47. I use a compact verticle eye jig like the ike mini flip. Trailer a small beaver type with no action.

  5. Mikey I found after them bigger fish hit the top of the water, Id throw in behind them with a wacky worm. I caught a few nice fish doing this. They just hit the biggest target, I believe.

  6. Thanks again Mikey…..good advice….but I missed shots of Bog the dog a lot….keep up the grind….always like your vids….that old guy from Brentwood, Ca. Ken

  7. When fat Largemouth don’t want to choke on your mega stick, balls deep, you’ll just have to stroke it until you felt it loading, up, than POW….situation solved.
