Good video Tyler. Thanks for sharing your pro experience. I discovered when i snip off an 1/8 inch of lead from a 1/32 oz lead nail and insert it in the fat end it increases the diameter or the spiral of the 5" senko as it falls. When i did that i went from no bites on a swimbait to 15 bass in a 50 yards of weedline. Keep making these videos on what the pros use and how they the baots.
The Kevin Pereira of fishing.
Use these alot with a thin piece of electrical tape around center helps get more use out of worm and run hook threw tape.
I never had luck with a wacky worm or a worm in general only had luck on craw and creature bait
Thanks so much. I just started kayak bass fishing last week and today I got my first fish.
Thanks to your instructions and tips on the Wacky Worm.
PS a no spring worm lasted me 3 fish.
I always have a wacky rig tied on. I would say half the fish I ever caught are with a wacky. Maybe I’m in the minority, but I love a small circle hook with an o ring on mine, and I seem to have no issues with hooking up. Thanks for the videos as always dude!
Hey man I know you are a Christian, so am I, I'm just wondering what prayers do you say before you go out there brother I need to catch some of the stuff that you catch more often maybe your life is just cleaner living than I am, lol! That being said, I was very serious previously, but I'm just curious if you could actually tell me this? Are the bass bigger in Texas than anywhere else? Or do you know what State actually holds the biggest bass statistically speaking? Just curious.
Looove using wacky worms…almost too easy lol.
My go to.. just today got 7 solids today. Okhissa
Just use live worms. You'll catch 10 times more fish.
You can power fish a wacky rig. Change it to the Neko rig. Put 1/16 nail weight in the head. I can skip over 100 docks in a day.
Tyler, you're the only one I've had to slow the video down to .75. Good video!
Great info analyst . Thank you l
When you're picking up your VMC Redline hooks, grab their crossover wacky/neko tool. Works wonders for keeping your worm in one piece. The Gamakatzu G-Finesse weedless neko hooks are an awesome choice too
Great vid as usual. What about the difference between wacky style and rigging the stick bait Texas rigged? Is it a night/day comparison or are there any similarities?
Try using a small bullet weight.
I dont see the advantage of wacky vs weightless texas rig. Texas rig falls vertical without getting hung on everything
Lol haha it falls vertically lmao it's not like it could possibly fall horizontal lol
It falls directly down, horizontally not vertically
I’d never heard of this till fishing with a buddy at some local ponds. I remember thinking hmm that’s a weird way to rig a worm. He caught 41 fish that day. I caught 5. Made me a believer lol.
Tyler can you make NFNT outdoor stickers for Kayaks, boats, and trucks
Using a weighted wacky hook you can turn it into a fantastic search bait . While also fishing it finesse ✌️ ☮️
Thanks for the info! Appreciate you sharing!
I love the wacky rig. It was pretty much the first bait i learned to use (other than a texas rig) and I have probably caught almost half my fish on it.
I live right here in North Charlotte and missed it
thanks dude
Good stuff! Thanks for the in-depth info on this deadly technique!
I just left Sam Rayburn and somehow for some reason I couldn’t get a fish to bite a wacky worm…😵
This guy is like if Jon. B had a younger brother lol
Will the BassForcast help in local farm ponds and rivers, in Tx?
I referred back to one of your earlier videos wherein you experimented using a fountain pen spring inserted into the worm for whacky rigging in an attempt to make it more durable. There is another method to consider that expands the load-bearing area of the hook-to-worm connection. Purchase 1/4 in (6mm) and 3/8 in (9.5 mm) clear, thin-walled, shrink wrap tubing. Either a 2:1 or 3:1 shrink ratio is fine. The 1/4" is for thinner diameter worms (e.g., Trick Worms) and the 3/8" is for Ocho/Senkos. Snip off a 3/8" or smaller length of the tubing and slide it onto the worm to the location wherein you want to hook it. Shrink the tubing using a BIC lighter, or something similar. It does not take much heat and will not harm the worm unless you go crazy with holding the flame there too long. Thereafter, insert the hook through both the shrink wrap tubing and the worm. Have you ever tried this method? I have VMC's new crossover rings but believe shrink tubing provides a more durable connection at lower cost.
My spinning combo may not the most untuned but I miss a good number of fish wacky rigging. I do use an o ring but I believe the lower hook up ratio for me is due to the worm folding over the hook, the hook doesn't fully penetrating the bass's mouth due to the worm folding in a weird way. Supposed it's just the way the worm is folded in its mouth? Anyway, what connection knot do you use for your braid to leader?
What are your thoughts on using a band to attach your hook to the senko? Is it worth not hooking into the senko or does it affect the action?
I've caught my biggest bass on a wacky worm.
I tell you that ocho senko is the best
Great video Tyler! I was out yesterday and forgot my whacky jig heads I like, I was fishing a light soft win bait head with a largo shad on it and it wasn’t working. I decided to throw a worm on that swim bait head and BAM I grabbed a 3lbser! I was surprised but not surprised lol🎣
I catch most of my Bass on a drop shot wacky rig…period.😉
I overlap 2 o-rings and hook the hook up threw noth crosses and I always pin the fat side of my senko 🤘🏻🤘🏻 I caught my pb here in upstate ny on a wacky rig (6.54lb largemouth) and I throw it all the time when it gets tough and always stick one
I can't understand why nobody uses the Berkeley weighted heads. 3/16 works amazing!
Great video buddy
Tyler, a weighted wacky and a neko are different rigs. a neko is rigged longitudinally, a wacky is rigged across the worm.
