  1. Hey Mikey…new here watching this as my first content from you. First thanks…I’ll be subbing and watching more.

Question or more of a clarification. So when casting this rig out, are you doing the subtle shaking on the first drop and continue working it up to contact with the bottom…and then keeping it in contact with the bottom a la Neko style for the rest of the cast? Or, are you just keeping a tight-line swimming/shaking it at various depths in the column working it all the way back to the boat? I got a bit confused when you said shaking and shaking as it falls and gets to the bottom and then working on the bottom. But maybe I have it wrong. Thanks!

  2. As usual, excellent content. I appreciate what you do and the time you take to produce these videos.

Best fishing channel on You Tube. Best fishing channel period.

  3. Do you think this rig will work in a pond I tried a fluke but I think it was to big of a presentation, I tried some weightless drop shot type of baits and smoke them but I’d like to try a ball jig head just to be able to cast a little further

  4. Great tips, I like the Yamamoto d shad. I also like neko rigging it with a 1/32 or 1/16 oz nail weight and a VMC crossover ring but have also used Matt Stehan’s core tackle hover rig. I have used your recommended screw head ball jig with the easy shiner and that has worked but I will try it with the zoom super fluke or the Yamamoto d shad 😉 and let you know how it works

  5. dude! just clicked on the channel and the first thing i see is the Hammonds Fishing hat. Wear mine every day, been going there for years. Cool to know youre right down the road!

  6. I feel like this is dependent on live scope alot which is disappointing. I used those same heads with the 3.5 inch spunk shad and smashed some smallies with them though, so I guess it’s not too bad but I feel like picescope still definitely is a super helpful factor to success.

  7. I think from following Jacob wheeler’s channel, what I learn is that he is a very forward minded individual. He’s constantly trying to figure out ways to not only find previously non targeted or lightly targeted fish, he’s trying to target them in parts of the water column that most people overlook, using any possible bait to get the bite no matter how simple or complex, AND he’s trying to utilize the front edge of new technology to do it, because without the live forward imaging the things he’s doing offshore were not efficiently doable or repeatable enough to put into an anglers arsenal in a tournament format in a way that would win said tournament. I also feel he’s borderline got adhd and it’s helping him fire on 12 cylinders so he can multitask well, where as most are firing on 8. 😂

  8. I dont have to watch to know there are No secrets. Some of ya use electronics to help your fish catching ability. But most with on the water experience can do what you do easily. You can’t keep mimicking the same ole lures and call em new. It’s insane. 😅 One day this industry will come around. Happy Fishing

  9. Fishing is strange. Some things are easily explained. You'll find a style of bait that works whatever the color. Then days you need that one color. And sometimes you just don't have a clue. I got a now discontinued rapala crank as a kid called the risto rap. This damn thing always caught fish, front crappie to musky. I bought more of them including the same size and color, and they caught fish…It was a great bait…but none of them caught fish like the first bait. I shit you not I went so far as to get in a swimming to and have a couple buddies cast the original and another the same size and color to see if I could figure out what it was. Couldn't do it. Reminds me of when we would go to a local river for spring walleye. We all used the same bait, same color and same weight and one guy was out fishing us five to one. We figured that since he was a junkie and was high as hell, it allowed him to be patient and fish slow enough. So the next day we all went and started using heroin and got strung out. Now I'm writing this comment from my prison cell on a phone I had to Pay 2k for and bang a fat ugly female guard…jk

  10. I've been saying this for years! People need to stop getting so caught up on what bait the pros are catching them on. They could probably win the tournament on several different baits. It's more about understanding the fish and where they are than which bait. Right place with wrong bait can catch fish. Wrong place with right bait won't catch fish.

  11. the tightlining works well when the water is stained. try ripping that bait just under the surface when water is clear. you can sweep it, reel up slack, sweep it, reel up slack, etc., the bait will move fast, drop, move up fast, etc. its deadly. resembles a feeding herring

  12. Blueback herring bites are like that on blueback herring lakes. i have a large lake with blueback herring as the main bait. the bass are pelagic just like the herring. they are usually suspended when feeding on the schools. we set up on long tapering points where the herring hang out. until the water gets really warm (august) the herring come up to the surface to feed out of 20 feet of water. the bass know this and either sit the bottom looking up at the surface or suspend about half way up or higher in water column. if you rip that blue jerkbait fast in a straight line or run topwaters, like a spook, fast over those points, the fish will move up to hit them. when i saw that on the flw and on elite, i saw a pattern i actually know well here… usually in august and early september the herring are absent but when the water cools, they push into the creek arms but for some reason like to hang around the points where they can access deep water. the bass again set up on them. its fast and furious sometimes.

  13. Crazy how many top level anglers are just now catching onto the Biwa rig and I motion concepts. The japanese been doing this for 20 years! haha I'd strongly urge people watching this to experiment by dropping that head down to a 1/16, 1/32nd, tie up some 6 lb line, get a better JDM straight tail plastic and let that bait come alive! Great video Mikey

  14. I guess we did great keeping the secret. The biggest bag of spots I ever caught (26½lbs) was doing this very thing. I used a ³/¹⁶oz ball head with a pearl Superfluke. That was back in 1995. BALLZ/BOG '24! 🇺🇸🎣

  15. It’s a new Soft Plastic from Rapala and that’s pretty Damn cool but all the Hype about Jacob and this Secret Lure is silly Lol and Jacob is a great Angler but I 100% believe Devon Christian is better lol no BS and WITHOUT using 9 Screens to locate Fish..!! Great Video my Friend stay safe

  16. Its forward facing sonar off shore long cast and seeing how they react to your bait and your retrieve plus timing. So he figured it out thats why he's the best tournament angler lately he figuers it out better than the rest.

  17. JW (either one) killed it on Gville! I thought when I was watching the tournament that Wall was the guy I’ve e seen on your channel but I couldn’t remember, anyways the rig is the the deal, thanks for being you Ballz🎣
