The Secret Weapon Revealed: Yamamoto Senko 2

Hello, Angler Waki here. In this video, I’m showcasing the 2-inch Yamamoto Senko, a unique take on the legendary Senko that’s been customized for Japan’s heavily pressured fishing spots.

The Yamamoto Senko is a great lure. It’s a go-to for bass anglers worldwide. But when fishing in small ponds with lots of anglers, even the classic Senko isn’t always enough. That’s where the Japanese finesse fishing style comes in, using light rigs paired with small lures to adapt to tough conditions. This 2-inch Senko might look like it’s just for catching baby bass, but don’t be fooled! It can be a killer bait for big ones under challenging conditions!

  1. Thank you for making and sharing this video. I appreciate the time and effort required to do so. I feel that your point regarding Yamamoto, Keitech, and similar high quality soft plastic lures is important. You generally do get what you pay for. Yes, they can be less durable than some other brands, and of course, as you have previously noted, less durable than hard lures. However, when conditions are challenging, these lures have produced more fish for me than all others.

  2. Dear Japanese Angler Waki.

happy new year. I was diagnosed with myeloid leukemia last year and had been battling the disease for a year. Fortunately, the transplant surgery was successful, and I was able to resume fishing, albeit only once, at the end of last year. I will continue to fight against the disease, but seeing Waki fishing in good health for the first time in a while gave me a lot of strength. Please stay well and have exciting fishing forever!

  3. Even the link you left in the description only goes down to 3" senko!
They dont sell 2" senkos any more. Totally new information. I have been keeping an eye out on gary yamamoto website since i bought the last few packs of 2" they had 10 years ago. I have found some that are not yamamoto but are on temu that work. But not real gary yamamoto senkos anymore. They must only sell them in japan? Amazon has them for 10.30 a pack. I just found. A Japanese person selling them on Amazon

  4. People complain about the durability of Yamamoto senkos but I don’t care. If I’m catching fish that’s all that matters, I have enough senkos to last me 3 years of fishing everyday 😂. Thank you angler waki for the video hopefully you had an amazing Christmas and your new year is filled with big fish happiness and good health. Arigato gozaimashita

  5. I agree, fishing is so simple and if you keep it that way is one of the most rewarding outdoor activities you can do, few things surpass an accomplished angler spending a day trying out new lures and reeling in fish in the process.

  6. 2inch Senko…. wow. Would love to get hold of some of those. I normally use a 3inch Yum dinger here in South Africa and cut it down to about 2 inches. Works really well, especially in winter. Our winters are very mild here in Cape Town and the bass fishing is often excellent in winter.

  7. Thank you Waki I used the same 2" senco and had two bites on Saturday, but I used a smaller hook rigged Texposed so thank you for sharing your rigging. The fish are so slow and lack aggression exposing the hook will probably help.

  8. Yamoto baits have saved the day more than once for many a person, have never tried or seen the 2” ones, but would think they’d be great on Ned rig here, but in small lake can see them being awesome weightless, thanks for video
