If you hadn't shared it you'd probably saved us a bunch of money, these things are snag magnets.
I must have missed the how to catch fish with a dark sleeper cus I cus can not find a fish that is willing to eat one yet…..
I’ve taken your valuable advice concerning purchasing megabass lures. I’ve purchased 6 lures. 3 jerk and 3 deep divers. I’m giving one of each to my son and keeping the rest. Time will tell if I catch 10 times as many fish as my fishing buddy. Hoping it’s true.
Love modifying back in the day. Anyone else tak a Lunker Lure buzz bait and bend the shaft so it would click against the blade? Wore them out on that. Slower the better.
I just subscribed to you Randy. I am 71 and disabled but I'm going to start fishing again. You are a great guy to be sharing your secrets.
On the bottom just like a sculpin , I’m assuming that’s what this lure is imitating
I caught 3pd on clear water the way it ambushed it under water was great. Good lure absolutely
Everybody out here on Clearlake has been killin em on the DS. Keep em comin Randy!
Share or dont.
The moment any channel stops sharing worthwhile info is the moment that channel stops getting views.
We need each other. 😎
Don’t just drag this bait. Randy mentioned popping it off the bottom. I used it for an hour today and only caught a white perch (albeit a big one) fishing it slow. I changed my presentation, popped it twice, and caught an 8+ largemouth. My PB.
I fish the great lakes and I'm not a pro at all. I normally just fish live bate and love Pike fishing. I started watching videos on fishing getting ready for our trip and found your channel. I got so excited I ended up buying a pole just to do artificial fishing. Bought different things you recommended and I've learned to bait and rigged up my bait. I'm very excited to try this out as I have not caught a bass up there yet, everyone else has and it's my bucket list to do so. Now I've caught them in our lake where I'm from in Oregonia ohio, but not yet in the great lakes. Thank you for teaching me as I've learned so much from you!
Amazon has Generic ones that are the exact same for $11 a 5 pack I have had great success with them for smallmouth largemouth and rock bass. Thanks for the breakdown Take care
Up here in Ontario Canada I use the 3 inch Goby for Jumbo Perch yes perch 14 inch and bigger. Small Mouth love them to cast, drag, twitch, and hold.
Great bait there Randy
3”. What weight?
Thanks
I'm a relatively new subscriber and your "secrets " are unique and interesting but and it's a big but you indicated that you are not going to divulge all your secrets as you are still tournament fishing . This tells us that you assume your competitors watch your channel too. Thus your secrets are not secret at all! This said, I'd prefer to subscribe to a channel that seeks to make its subscribers better fishermen _women without holding back . Either fish or teach. Accordingly, I am unsubscribing.
TACTICAL BASSIN BEEN TALKING ABOUT THIS FOR 2 YEARS ESPECIALLY FOR SMALL MOUTH
Ever use the 1oz single spot, a old school oldie?
Now I know how to fish it. Thanks!
OK I bit, LOL As soon as I watched this video I went a bought 3 of these yesterday and will be slinging one this weekend!
Went out to Lake Michigan and used it got some bites but still haven’t caught something with it gotta trim the fins and try again..
That bait just catches fish.
Looks like a good bait.
Bro thanks for Sharing. But that’s not really a secret
Oh no, you let the cat out of the bag this time Randy…. 😂😂😂 I have made a couple of modifications on these, and yes, its been around a long time.
Trim the fin down from the eye to the point of the hook, then gentle bend the hook upwards, till it is barely exposed, this increased hook up ratio from 80% (which was the initial issue with this lure) to 100%……………
Good information
Randy, I hate to tell you but your secrets aren’t that secret. We’ve been using the Dark Sleeper up here as a goby imitation for years.
Can the Dark Sleeper be Skipped?
I worked in the fishing department at bpro the dark sleeper is one of most impressive baits I've seen
What time of the year do you use the dark sleeper
Just caught a nice bass today on the dark sleeper! 🎣 Great video Randy!
Looks like a little sculpin
Wow I've been flipping swim baits in willows and weeds for years, didn't know I was on the cutting edge, lol
We don’t have goby around the southern waters. Has any one had luck with these in the southern waters for largemouth?
I have really good luck with the 2.4” for small mouth in my river system.
I like that but I also like tsunami too
This thing caused me to throw my arm out in the spring. I cover water burning it.
How does it work in floida?
This was a cool video I just purchased some for the first time early this year I was amazed how well they work! Would like to see or know what the follow up videos will be put out. I watch your videos and just subscribe recently to get all the new updates. Thanks for your knowledge
Another Megabass lure any serious angler should have in their arsenal. Specifically the 3/8 and 1/2oz. The 1/4 and 1oz. are worthwhile but in my experience the 3/8 and 1/2oz. are my bread and butter Dark Sleeper weights all in the 3" version. The 3/8 and 1/2oz. fish perfectly on the ST. Croix Legend Tournament Bass Swimfrog rod or the Megabass Orochi XX Perfect Pitch!!
Damn man turn those porch lights down. Couldn't watch video.
Been fishing these for the past 2+ years and they are great bed baits, smallie baits and fantastic around shallow or deep rock
Secrets of the Pro’s ><>~ Depend Incontinent Sport Briefs. “Take Catch & Release to a whole new level!”
Been staying em on a dark sleeper
I actually bought a half dozen of these two yrs ago and some guide friends on Lake Toho and Kissimmee laughed me off the water. They have to be worked faster because if the hydrilla… They will catch fish in stained water in FLA. Friends on Lake Erie and St. Clair say they imitate Gobi and slay both small- largemouth and walleye. Fish it slow and close to the bottom.
My wife is gonna kill me when i show her this. She ordered them months ago and i said they look cheap and wont work lol
Hey Randy – Clean your camera lens! There is a huge amount of haze in your video.
