What is the only lure catching bass right now? Today on Realistic Fishing we are bass fishing with topwater lures (poppers). I caught three largemouth bass on a Excalibur Popper. The smallest bass was around 3/4 lb and the largest was close to 2 lbs. These three fish were caught in the evening as the sun was going down. The 4th bass was caught in the morning on a Rebel Pop-R Magnum. This is the largest fish of the bunch caught on topwater. I can’t seen to get a bite on anything else right now! If you are having trouble catching bass, maybe try a topwater lure like a popper. You just might catch a few like I did. #fishing #bassfishing

I love the bite on poppers. Always startles me, cause they usually wait till it’s to the bank before hitting it.
Top water fishing is the best, the strikes are just awesome specially on light gear, those magnums sure draw attention due to their size, great video Alex thanks for sharing.

I've tried all the top water i have this year and no luck. I keep trying because nothing beats a top water bite, so exciting.
I’m killing bluegills right now. Not so much on the bass. But I’ll take it. Love the popper bite though.

I have been watching your videos for a while now. Went back in your archives watching the early stuff, and remembered you starting out stating that you wanted to become a better angler. That caught my attention. I have been a sit down, bank, trout fisherman only. This year I decided, I want to become a better angler. Watching your videos, I decided to keep it realistic, I bought reels and poles at estate sales and garage sales. I learned about, Texas rigs, Ned rigs, wacky rigs and drop shots. I chose a couple of baits, realistically, meaning on sale, and found a local lake up here in Washington with some accessible shoreline. Yep last week I caught my first bass on a Texas rig shiner, about 7 inches long. I have begun….. let’s go fishing. Keep up the lessons, you are appreciated!

It doesn't get more exciting than a top water bite, and those poppers got you some good ones, what a belly on that last one. Love the cameos too!
