In this week’s fishing report, we evaluate the current conditions for stripers and bass, which have been rated as fair overall. Anglers are experiencing a few daily opportunities to take advantage of short bite windows, and last week’s tournament results reflected lower-than-anticipated weights. However, with a stable weather pattern predicted for the upcoming week, there is optimism that the fall bite will improve significantly. Make sure to tune in for the latest river conditions and information for planning your next fishing adventure.

  1. Largie bite was tough last Saturday. Got 1 keeper striper near Sherman island. Found some crappie near Brannan State Park so I started throwing this itty bitty strike king crank bait. Had a 4+ pound largie crush it but popped off close to the boat. Blaming the tiny hooks on that one, but it seems like that one only bit because they were feeding on small bait. Hopefully they start crushing the bigger baits soon for me!

  2. Hey Steve thanks for the report! What reel gear ratio do you recommend for a chatterbait set up? Been using a 7:1, but wondering if it is a bit too fast of a retrieve. Thanks!

  3. Fished the bass hole tournament. As always had a good time caught a lot of fish using jerk bait and Robo worms. Just can’t get the size to weigh in ,all shorts, but lots of action., thanks for the report. Camoguy
