  1. Worm fishing…..regardless of the hook used……is my Kryptonite! In all my years of fishing, I have caught 2……yes 2 fish on a worm. It’s another of those “boat only” lures for me. I have Zoom, Big Bite Baits, 6th Sense, GrandeBass, and a dozen more brands of worm in all sizes, but they just don’t get me any bites. I am sure it’s user error, but I’ve asked numerous fishing friends what I need to correct, and they usually give me another brand of worm to try. I’m beginning to think Bass in Kentucky know the worms are not real. Super frustrating fishing with a worm.

  2. Randy…. seriously thinking about pulling the trigger on competitive fishing. How many tournaments have you won ?
And if you are comfortable with disclosing, maybe a ballpark earnings per year that you bring home?
A lot of time away from family !

  3. Can't ever beat a worm! 2 baits I always have tied on every trip all year long is big swimbaits & worms, just different varieties for different situations. I have really started liking the bigger 6 & 7" sencos. They have different look than what everyone else is throwing. All of my 4+ fish have came on big swimbaits & big worms. This summer I did excellent. My pb from last year was 7lb 8oz. Broken my PB 3 times between mid July & late August on those baits 8.05 – 8.6 – & my new PB 9.3! She was 26" long 16.75" in girth. That's her in my profile picture. In fact if I didn't have all pictures to look back at I would think it was all just a handful of good dreams… Also caught 7.4 – 6.1 – 5.10 – 5.8 in that same time span & had one jump off that was noticably larger than my 9.3! That still hurts! Hopefully I can trick her into biting again!??! All of those fish were released immediately & in great condition most importantly! I have a replica being made of my current PB. Same company makes replicas for MLF & bass pro tournament anglers.

  4. Started out bass fishing with 1 pole and 2 or 3 packs of worms 30 years ago and killed ‘em. Thirty poles, $10,000 of tackle, and thirty years of over-thinking every aspect of bass fishing, I decided 3 months ago to fish a Texas rigged worm like I started out with and have been killing ‘em.

  5. When I was a kid my dad used Culprit red shad colored curly tail type worms all the time in Florida. That's how I learned to fish with worms, and now that I fish in the saltwater I use a lot of the same techniques for jigs. Jigging for flounder is almost exactly the same, hopping and dragging the bait. I catch a bunch of other stuff trying for flounder. And I would use bass worms for the saltwater but I don't like long baits because of the tail biters, they'd ruin a worm in 5 casts or less. I'm sure the flounder and redfish would bite the long ones. Yesterday I caught a tiny cobia and a little flounder on jerk shads like you use for bass, with an underspin weedless hook. Bass stuff with scent for the saltwater. I will try wacky rigging once ut gets colder and the little fish go away, I bet reds and maybe stripers will hit it.

  6. Love that speed worm too , do u remember before we had the speed worm , we had the culprit broad tail , it had a paddle tail and I fished it pitching always , but Zoom took the paddle to a whole new level
