The Fishing Forecast Said the Bite Was OVER… Then This Happened! + Reel Giveaway

Do the best fishing times and fishing forecasts actually work? I hit the water at 5AM for an early morning striped bass fishing session to test a projected high-fish-activity window, and the results definitely didn’t go the way I expected.

We started during what was supposed to be one of the best times to fish. An early keeper made it seem like the fishing forecast was right, but shortly afterward the bite completely shut down.

Then something unexpected happened.

After the projected high-activity fishing window had already ended, the bite suddenly picked back up. I managed to catch 5 fish after the predicted prime fishing time, along with several more catches that unfortunately weren’t properly recorded because of a camera issue.

It turned this trip into a real-world test of fishing bite forecasts, solunar-style activity windows, and whether waking up at 5AM actually gives you a better chance of catching fish.
