Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family.
Thanks for all your uploads.
This really , is just a big version of a trout magnet , makes sense because here in middle /east Tn I wear the bass out on trout magnet can’t wait to try this out ! Thanks Randy !
I had decided a couple days ago that my New Years resolutions would be to go back to fishing tubes, and jig worms.
Awesome. Can’t wait to try this. I’m going to make a few for my stock. Thank you.
Save that little 1 inch piece of the zoom green pumpkin finesse worm, to rig onto a ned rig head.
Thank you Randy!
Alright, the next time I go out on the water, I will have this rig ready to go and I will fish it the best I can. It'll probably be a green pumpkin worm as the lake I fish hasn't had a whole lot of stained or dirty water (unless I want to drive the boat about 20 miles from the ramp I usually use) in a very long time. Standing timber/submerged stumps for acres and acres but not dirty. Thank you for the tip. I appreciate it greatly. Merry Christmas, by the way. 👍🇺🇸
We used to call it a Jig Worm. The small curly tail Ring worm was a solid choice too if wanting a little more action.
I think the Ned is the easiest to catch fish. It's so simple, it'll catch them big and small.
looks like a jig worm but you need a gopher mushroom head for your jig now that's a old-school fish getter.
In FL I used Culprit red shad worms with about 2" trimmed off with a red 1/4 oz jig head for the saltwater. We fished in golf ponds that didn't have snags and I outfished my Dad's Texas rigged worms 5 to 1. He was getting bites and missing them. I used 6 lb test and he had 20, that might be part if why I caught more fish. So I have to agree with worms on jig heads if you can get away with it. Obviously lots of places you'd snag something on the first cast with the open hook point. But in cleaner conditions I definitely rather use a jog head than a Texas rig.
Today I found some jig heads that have round heads but the line tie is sideways instead of inline with the hook. Like a chatterbait head without the blade. If you want to know the name I can get them out of my car and tell you.
Randy I assume a wacky worm would do better in clear water ?
I have never painted the head of the jig red or cut off an inch but will try it, especially in these colder water months, throwing a smaller bait I am sure will help, thank you Randy!!! I have thrown the finesse worm on an Owner Ultra Finesse EWG jig (usually I use 1/16 oz) so it's Texas rigged weedless and it works great. I've have thrown a 4 inch cut tail worm the same way with the same results.
Great setup and thanks for sharing this with us!!
Good pick. I'm going to pick a senko. Texas rig or wacky rig.
Would love to do a jerk bait lesson ! I can’t wait to try this ! I live New England ! Thanks Randy !
I have a livebait question since you brought up the Jighead. What live bait out produces all other live bait's in the toughest times to fish in cold weather and what is that live bait to you?
