I could make a whole video about Gamakatsu hooks and why they are the best for fluke and swimbait fishing.
I have a problem with my swim bait flipping over when I swim it on the Texas rig any ideas to help with that problem
I wouldnt have told David, lol
Great tip, I have never used a swimbait, but I can see being successful also since it is a slimmer profile that can go thru grass easily. 👍
I much prefer a bober stop because you can get a little extra action if you give it some extra space.
How far do you peg the weight from the lure, please.
I thought all anglers knew that. Been doing that for 30 years.
I sometimes rig a fluke up backwards on a Texas rig and slow drag it on bottom!!! Catches hella fish
Bobber stop is 100x better but ok
Thanks Randy I have the ingredients for it but never used it. Also can u make a video about how many rods u are taking to the lake and what are your preferred setups on each of them. Thank you
When I take my wife fishing I always put her a kitech Texas rigged on. She doesn’t have much experience fishing but always manages to catch fish with it. She just slow winds bumping along bottom most of the time. It’s a great way for any beginner to just catch fish
I have used a similar method to this by rigging a paddle tail senko worm on a shaky head. Caught my PB with it!
I can’t wait to try this
You did not mention hook size. 1/0 or 2/0?
Right on thanks Randy!
It’s exactly like a weighted Senko only different.
Interesting. Gonna have to think outside the norm on this sport
If u must use a toothpick, square is best , won’t pinch line as bad.
The Keitechs work great but I find their plastic is a little softer than other brands which causes me to readjust the bait on the hook every little bite. Super Glue gel helps at the nose.
Is it better to use a twist lock so the plastic doesn’t get tore up as much/fast?
I’ve used that technique several years now and had great success! Another technique that I really like is using that on a Gika rig!
Thanks I will try that
Randy, what’s the custom on the pro fishing tours of competitors approaching an angler who is having success and asking what bait or lure they’re using? And what is the custom if another competitor is asking you what you’re fishing? Do most anglers respond truthfully, decline to respond, or give only a half truthful response, leaving out some particular equipment or technique?
Thanks and great video.
Short story you may like: when my daughter was pre-teen, she loved to go bass fishing with me when I was not in a tournament. Then we went on a church trip and one of the events was a tourist "Trout Lake" in the NC mountains. She was excited to go there. The so-called lake was more like a swimming pool with hundreds of captive trout. All you had to do was drop a piece of corn on a hook and 'bingo', you caught a fish. After the first one, she put the pole down and said, "This ain't real fishing, this is sissy fishing"… I loved it because I knew I had taught her well. No Spotlighting Bass!!!!
Randy, FFS is not the problem. The so called professional fishermen come into an area for a tournament, bring in high powered boats making noise and polluting the water, they’re rude and have the attitude that since they’re in a tournament they own the lake and citizens shouldn’t be there. They leave their litter all over cause they’re too important to pick up empty packages. The so called pros fish for their full time job so the fish don’t stand a chance against their tactics and equipment.
You people ruin it for everyone and you don’t even like catching fish—it’s just about number of pounds, then off to the next tournament. You’re all just aggressive jerks who feel entitled. You use the resources someone else paid for and then only have contempt for the people who provided it.
The local people who pay taxes in that area and support the lake year-round have to tolerate all this mess. Fishing a lake should be about relaxing and enjoying nature for people who live in the area.
You want to be a crusader? Come out against fishing tournaments and prize money. Shut that down and the FFS issue goes away.
Great info
I Think Brett Ehler was doing this in a classic in the 90's ? If it wasn't him someone was flipping it < And did realy good <😮Peace 😊😊😊
