  1. I have an old Abu Garcia SilverMax that I have had for years. It's loud and sounds rough, but it's still kicking! That reel has caught more fish for me than all my other reels. Right now, it's on a 7' MH with a fast tip and is spooled with 30 lb braid to a 17 lb fluoro leader. I use it as a light jig rod, dragging worms and Texas rigs, topwater…makes a great frog rod…and it's even good for throwing bladed jigs on. My setups have to be versatile. The only "dedicated" setup I have is my flippin' stick, but everything else needs to be able to multitask.
