  1. Next time get close to those metal or rock walls and fish down them fish like to pin bait against the wall. You will catch 10x more fish then reeling your bait away from the wall. Also you will want heavier gear. IF you don't have a beefy reel you will ruin the gears in your reel. Also the right rod will increase your hook up ratio. 7"11 or 8' is the sweet spot with a nice parabolic bend, rated for heavy line and lures.

  2. IMO, Glide baits are 1 of the few baits, that the bigger baits seem to be more effective..the drawing power of a bigger glide is quite amazing…smaller glides no doubt catch fish, but their drawing power doesn't compare…with a smaller bait, u pretty much have to throw where the fish is…the larger glide baits, will pull fish out away from cover & out of deeper water to check the bait out….FYI, if u aren't changing out your fluoro VERY frequently, u are asking for a heartbreak…Fluoro's no controlled stretch is a major con that's not talked about

  3. May I suggest a website called Alternative Lures. The lures are unpainted, but are replicas of super expensive swimbaits.
Add some color with sharpies or throw a Jig Skinz cover on it and you are ready to go.
There is a way to save money on lures without getting suckered into spending $50+ on a single lure…
