The BASICS of BASS FISHING (You BETTER Know this to CATCH FISH)

Fishing can be a bit overwhelming especially trying to catch fish on new lake! That’s why in this video I go back to the basics of bass fishing and simplify my fishing techniques, the cover and structure, and the locations on the lake I look for bass. Sometimes it is that simple to catch fish – they’re fish right!?!?! On Lake Guntersville key winter fishing areas are marinas, rocks and bridges. Fish pass through these locations during seasonal movements in to creeks to spawn in spring and often times use these areas to stage going back and forth. I love fishing an a rig and crankbaits as well as single swimbaits which are all perfect lures to use when approaching these types of fishing situations. If you find yourself struggling to catch bass during these winter periods simplify and get back tot he basics of fishing – think about forage, seasonal movements for winter fishing and spring fishing, some of the fishing techniques you like to use and the cover you like to fish and get out to the lake and make it happen!

  1. Mikey go hit those bridges in may once the post spawn starts to happen.. Man guntersville is super fun and you can catch a sht ton of big fish.

  2. Here's what I tell everyone I fish with, just slow down. Sometimes we tend to overthink things. Use your favorite bait no matter what it is and just SLOW DOWN especially with these crazy gear ratios these days go a little slower.

  3. Got to remember even the best fishermen don’t catch them all the time on the Tennessee river chain , sometimes it’s not easy guides don’t catch them all the time even in the winter when it’s a grind. I like this video because you went back to basic fishing 101 a lot of folks have forgot that cause they have big fish on there kinds all the times great channel keep plugging away.

  4. Whats up homie, im for real coming to catch some with you here soon. What is best for you? Late April, or around May? Also i was about to buy an A Rig at Sportsman warehouse yesterday, not many get thrown on Hartwell, I held back bc i couldnt justify spending like 25 bucks on swim baits extra jig heads etc lol, its been raining here a lot, and if its not raining, it is windy as hell. March 3-5 im fishing an FLW here, just as co-angler, my boat situation has been non existent for the past year; I'll tell you about that some other time ha. Just let me know brother, I'm really excited about Alabama, and we can exchange info later. Youtube is the only form of a social media i have. Take it easy man

  5. Just got me a A-rig today because of all of the fish you've been wearing out. I got the kietech eletric blue and chartruese. I wish i had gotten some white keitechs. Which would u suggest on a super deep clear lake in east TN?
