Pay attention, guys. He is saying that most ppl see a dropshot weight and use it for just that. His point it to look inside your tackle box at your terminal tackle and find other uses for other than what it is "intended". Thumbs up, I like it! Thank you.
looks like a good variation to try. The only issue may be that burying the (i use tungsten) weight inside the tube, takes away some of the sensitivity you feel from the tungsten weight bumping against the bottom.

How are you getting this to work without that hook? I’m very interested in trying this idea, but am hesitant because of the new style bait keepers. What type of weight do you recommend for some grass? Does it matter too much as the bait will sink into a little gap it finds or should it be able to just fall through. Also, what size do you recommend?

The first time I ever tried a drop shot I used a brass swiveling barrel weight and caught a nice bass the first try…I looked at the original drop shot weights at the store and then they were double the price they are today..I still use the same barrel weight today…I found out that the fish don't care…but good video on a tube….thanks

Glen that's a great Idea, unfortunately Eagle Claw has already obsoleted the HP HOOK at the time of this video. I know because I use it and now cannot find it anywhere. Called Eagle Claw direct and they told me so. That's unfortunate .
I posted this in the forums a year or so ago. Use water gremlin bell sinkers. Way cheaper.

I did something similar to catch trout just the other day… Put the tube and a small weight on threaded on the fishing line, then tie your hook. Before I pulled the hook to the tube, I put a wad of power bait in the tube and then pulled the hook into position. The presentation was great and it fished well.
Now that's a dang cool rig.
Yeah no o ring let a senko sit in a bowl for a week and see what it does to a bass that eats it.
