Swim jigs are a fast way to catch bass! You can cover a lot of water and catch big bass! Today I’m using a white 1/4 once jig with a couple of different white trailer from Yamamoto. I’m also using heavy braid because there is a lot of submerged Hydrilla and when a bass over 3 pounds tangles deep into it, you need at least 50# braid to horse him out! I’m also fishing out of a 17′ Canoe with a Power Pole system.

I just recently switched to 50 lb braid… watching your videos…it's great for tying leaders but it seems to really kill casting capabilities…I'm casting about half the distance since I switched… maybe it's the rod/reel I dunno

Hey Roland! I am puzzled about something and I trust your fishing wisdom. When Carolina Rigging everyone seems to talk about a fluorocarbon leader and this doesn't make sense to me. If Floro sinks, which everyone says it does and that's what I experience, why wouldn't the leader be a mono leader given that mono doesn't sink near as fast? Isn't the idea of Carolina rigging to have the lizard or worm floating above the vegetation?

You make it look so easy. I just retired in central Florida. Bought a kayak. Tons a great lakes to fish nearby. Shallow water full of hydrilla and other vegetation. I am struggling. Tough to keep lures out of weeds. I use a top water toad a lot but setting the hook from a sitting position is not easy even with heavy braid. Miss most of them. You don't.
Where do you launch when you fish the everglades.
Sometimes simple is better , caught many bass when I was a kid , fishing the creeks and ponds. Didn't have alot of money so we used swim baits similar to yours and beetle spins and Mr twisters were big as well.

I’m from Oregon and they’ve closed all the state parks which is most of the bodies of water around me so I’ve gotten into bass fishing at the big farm ponds and stone quarries I’ve found near me and your channel has helped me discover how fun bass fishing is keep up the amazing vides
