  1. You were fishing all around my cottage! Unfortunately, I wasn't up there that week or I would have waved at you. One question, where was the custard stand you were talking about? We love Pete's Treats in Union Springs.

  2. Keep on, keeping on! Youโ€™ll get yours. Donโ€™t worry about these people chiming in as if they go 100 for 100 fish. You obviously a well versed fisherman. Good luck on every next cast! ๐Ÿ˜

  3. Set the hook your back at it again your just raising the rod tip now don't get me wrong some times you set the hook but ALOT of the times you don't oh and also keep your rod tip down when they(Bass) breach from the water! Keep your head up!

  4. You are in sight of where I just weighed a 23 pound bag on June 17 in a tournament . I donโ€™t know the date of this video but youโ€™re off the juice in that first area and fishing to far out offshore like the guys around me that weโ€™re catching dinks . Thereโ€™s a 80 yard stretch thatโ€™s the juice and youโ€™re just outside of it. As well as you did in the practice video I donโ€™t know why you switched up. Youโ€™re a mile and 1/4 from the union springs ramp and just a little off where you shouldโ€™ve been . I wonโ€™t divulge the name of the point you shouldโ€™ve been closer too

  5. Hi Kristine,
So I think your hook set needs to be lower. If you take in some of the slack in your line before setting the hook wound help you catch more because you can bury the hook deeper. Just an observation I noticed. Keep killing it Kristine! Dave

  6. Yup these comments are pissing me off. Iโ€™ve NEVER seen a male angler get mansplained this way. Never.
Maybe most of them donโ€™t post videos showing their bad days. But some do, sometimes, and you donโ€™t see a thousand dudes crawling out to give a professional angler their infinite wisdom all about how theyโ€™d do it better if only they were there.

  7. Kristine….it's hard to hear in the video but do you loosen up your drag any while you are fighting fish? If you are using straight braid, or a braid to flouro leader…you may be pulling the hook out of their mouths. I don't really think it's a hook setting issue because it doesn't take much effort, especially with braid to get the hook in their mouths. Usually losing fish is one of 3 things…..#1 bad luck….#2 putting too much pressure and ripping hook out of their mouths….#3 allowing a moment in the fight where you aren't applying any pressure at all for whatever reason. Another thing…..I use those revo rocket reels as well…..and I found that they are a HUGE positive as far as being able to reel your lure in faster, and catching up to a fish going the opposite way….but they are a HUGE disadvantage in the actual fish fight because the reel is applying more pressure bring in line than most spinning reels…..that's why I loosen my drag down BIG TIME unless it's super heavy cover.

  8. Youโ€™re a much better fisherman than I but I think you might be pulling up on the rod causing the fish to surface and create slack in the line thatโ€™s allowing them to throw the hook. Maybe try keeping the rod down a little more.

  9. Being on the water is a good place to pray! I went fishing Sunday morning last week and missed Church, so decided to talk with God and ask him to guide and direct my life! Instantly, I caught a nice bass! God wink for sure! I have been having trouble with bass jumping and coming off too. Someone said to hold the tip of the pole lower and not winch them in, let them tire just a little. It seems to be helping but kayak fishing is different so that may not work. Good luck!

  10. If you think about it, about 10% of fishing goes as planned…lol. no matter how hard you fish or how great the lake or river is, sometimes things just do not go as planned. Keep smiling that beautiful smile girl and kicking butt!

  11. Enjoyed the video Kristine! I just had one of those type of days myself. I think itโ€™s inevitable as anglers we face this kind of adversity once in awhile.

Question: after your practice and crushing them under docks is there a reason you strayed from that pattern?

  12. Kristine, this week two other Kayak Bassers i follow had the same sort of issue. It bothered them in the same way. Years ago, in another lifetime i coached Archery for Youth. I took responsibility for ten children, three of which were my own children. Nearly every session ghere was a youngster who was having a bad shoot that night. They were all good at what theyyv did but they all had an "Off," night at one time or another. It was not always easy to fix the problem but we found a a way.
Usually it was to take a break, grab a drink and step outside for fresh air.
Since you are already outside there are still things you can do. You can phone a friend and pray but still there js more. You need to change your mindset. Take five minutes to reflect on whjy you are fishing. Rememnber the good timexs for five minutes. Slow your breathing down and make each breath deep.
When you are done make your next four or five casts not meant to produce anything just do it wwith your eyes closed. Then go back to work.

  13. Wow you fished your butt off! You dropped some of those baits right on their heads, instantly hooked up! Bummer you lost some but your a hammer you will turn it around! ๐Ÿคžfor you!
