Terrell catches a 6 pound 12 ounce large mouth bass – Z-Man Evergreen Brett Hite Morizo Jackhammer

Terrell Rose of Team Blue Dreams was on fire yesterday. I could only sit back, net some fish and watch the beat down go down. I was throwing a Jackhammer and Thunder Cricket myself, along with a swim jig. I threw a worm for a little bit giving my arm a rest.

I bought a few Z-Man Evergreen Brett Hite Jackhammer’s in a few sizes and colors. In order for us to have a better chance at winning a tournament, we have to use different lures that catch bigger average size fish. I am a Wormer and Wormers Worm. But I have been using different lures myself and having success with the chatterbaits. Both the Jackhammer and the Thunder Cricket. My cousin basically uses the Jackhammer when we are both out fishing. And since I bought them for us to use, he has been catching better size fish. Since he started catching them on the 1/2 oz Jackhammer with a gold blade, in Brett’s Bluegill color, with either a Strike King Rage Craw or a Crush City Mayor, the smaller one, in blue green. Also a Mission Baits Chunk D.

Now it is really going to be hard to pry that lure out of Terrell’s hands. He had been doing so well with it, I snuck out and bought a few more just like it. A big bass took one of them. As good as we have been doing with the chatterbaits, they do not always catch toads. We were out a week or so practicing and using them, we did catch 8 fish on a tough afternoon and the top 5 only weighed a little over 8 pounds. But that is pretty rare. You may not get as many bites with a chatterbait but they are generally decent size fish.

I use a 3/8 oz black and blue Jackhammer and also using the EVO Tungsten in a 1/2 oz size in green pumpkin or bluegill. I am also using the Strike King Thunder Cricket. I am trying to use something a little different, but after yesterday, I may take that rod away from Terrell and tie it to my hands. It seems to be working quite well.

I follow a local angler and his partner and trying to figure out how to add bigger fish to our bags. I will just say this as a person who has a hard time putting down my Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed Worm in June Bug Red, but when you make the commitment to pick up a lure or bait and use it no matter what, good things can happen.

I have a bad back, shoulder, neck and drop foot. Plus I have had a few strokes, 5 or 6 but who’s counting, so winding all day can be tough on me, but Terrell can do it. I also noticed I may of had a little stroke or something yesterday. I could not find words to things, like the live well and other stuff. I called them, things. And my words kind of slurred a little toward the end. It was a long day and hot out there. And I noticed my right arm doing a circular motion on its on.
