Targeting bigger bass in the summer. Rising water and wind are my key ingredients for success.

In the midst of the summer, I give up throwing hard baits and my focus shifts to large soft plastics if I want to target the bigger bass in my lakes. Any of the working class zero soft swimbaits do the trick, and I utilize larger slow moving worms/creature baits if I am dragging deep areas. Had a lot of rain recently, which equated to rising lake levels, coupled with a windy evening increased my odds of the big ones being diurnally active. Only got a couple bites this evening, but they were the ones that count.
