How To

Swimming Senko for BIG BASS

The swimming Senko covers water fast and catches big largemouth bass. The Florida Everglades are full of big bass with thousands of great places to fish. I’ll show you how to catch the big ones with the right rod, reel, line and tackle. The Yamamoto swimming Senko in the 5:5 inch size really cast a long way and is very easy to retrieve. It’s mid winter in Florida but this pattern works all year long.

  1. Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

  2. Roland slaying them with thee O'l Jon boat that's what we use around these Phosphate Pits so we can drag them over the berms and such from pit to pit and get into where the biggins are.

  3. Why would anyone in their right mind spend money, time, energy and effort to catch a fish…just to let it go?

I go fishing often. i throw back small fish, so they can grow, and large fish that may be breeders. but the eating sized fish….RELEASED INTO GREASE !

I dont trophy hunt, I dont pick on bass…..I eat what i kill, or use it. <trash fish that I catch get turned into chicken food>.

  4. These Senko videos tell me two things:

    1. They are very good attractors, that work when the fish are active and biting(fast reel with Swimming Senko) and EVEN when they are more lethargic and less aggressive(by dropping and dragging a regular Texas Rig Senko along the bottom). You could even draw a defensive strike on a fish bed when the fishing aren't feeding AT ALL.
    2. They don't last, AT ALL. He is having to change worms every 1-2 bass. My word. It's like really EXPENSIVE, live bait.

  5. I can never decide if these are the BEST ads for the senkos cuz he catches a monster every cast, or the worst ads cuz he needs a new worm after one fish every time LOL. Yamamoto senkos are the undeniable champions of rubber worms but their durability and longevity has me reaching for Zoom worms most of the time when Im fishing alone. I can catch 20 bass on a single trick worm. Regardless I just love these Roland Martin videos, used to love watching him, Bill Dance, Hank Parker…all on the TV when I was a kid. Love watching him on youtube these days I feel like he hasn't aged a day.

  6. I grew up bass fishing with an Abu Garcia 5500DA, Stren monofilament, and a Texas-rigged 8-inch Blackberry Jelly Worm. I watched you, Roland, on TV with my dad and we would plan our yearly fishing trips. Brings back awesome memories for me. The equipment has changed, the lures have changed, but the love for bass fishing is still there.

  7. I love a swimming worm and I love Senko’s but I’ve never tried the swimming Senko, so I just might have to get me a few packs and give them a dangle!!🎣

  8. I absolutely love Senkos and do and will fish them all the time. However, the only issues I have with them is that they are only good for a fish or two and are so damn expensive these days.
