You’re not getting an accurate weight on your fish. You need to zero out the scale with grippers on the scale. Not the the grippers in the fishes mouth.
I actually really do like that ark popper. I haven't caught a crappie on it but have boated some bass and rock bass with it. My combo for top water is a Lews Speed stick MH MF and a 13 fishing origin reel I got on clearance at Gander = whole combo under $200

The popper is one of those lures I used to use ALL the time but now rarely makes it into the rotation. Definitely need to use it more!

Hey Debo, I really needed to hear this. In my line of work there are programs setup but the stigma of being a man still trumps it. I started fishing again as a hobby and the being outdoors and not thinking about anything unless is how to get fish to bite really eases my mind. Thank you again.
A popper is something I have tied on 70% of the time. Other 30% is a buzzbait. Personally my favorite popper is the mega bass. It too has its own unique bloop.

dude I went out this morning and saw schools of bass hitting top water, I tossed my popper out there and they wouldn't even look at it?! any advise or info on why that could be? I also changed to a frog and they wouldn't eat it but kept seeing and hearing blow ups

I think you have the definition of dink wrong. When the length of your bass is less that 2X the length of your popper, you have caught a true dink!
And in my experience poppers are great to catch big crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed …
