SUMMER BASS FISHING with a TIGER MUSKIE SURPRISE!

Here are the two best fish of a late summer day of bass fishing! I didn’t see the second one coming! I know it wasn’t the best landing job; but I was surprised, excited & it was only the 2nd Muskie I ever caught (my first was a baby!) We don’t catch Tiger Muskie’s too often in my area, but I now carry a boga grip and net 100% of the time just in case!

  1. thats disgusting treatment of fish as an angler may i strongly suggest you read up on landing and unhooking fishing if your planning on returning them the blood from that muskies gill plate tells the tale he was as good as dead

  2. you sir, need to learn how to properly land a large fish–the way you "toweled" that muskie by grabbing a handful of gills, i thought i'd seen it all—that was pitiful–don't be grabbin any gills of any fish ffs.

  3. That is about the way I catch those,,by accident while bass fishing. We have 3 reservoirs within 10 miles from home,,,yeah I am lucky. Only one has had the most recent stocking of muskie and some of them are gigantic. I see em now and then bass fishing on that lake. 50" fish isn't uncommon there. The other two its always debatable by people if there is any left as it has been over 10yrs since any put in. I've hooked and lost two on one of the lakes that supposedly isn't any left. Right to the boat and turned and cut the line as the lure was deep. Most mistake them for pickeral on that lake as it has some huge pickeral that could be a new state record….Caught and released some big ones in the record neighborhood over the last few years…It is always fun when we hook into something like that unexpected..I'm in northern PA.

  4. Apparently it's very expensive for municipalities to stock and sometimes just maintain Tiger Muskies. We have world class Tiger Muskie fishing here at Bluewater lake New Mexico but if the population dwindles that's it!!! You have to get a 40incher + to keep one. Can't wait to take my son this summer. 80lb braid, med. Heavy or heavy rods, 4000 spinning reels and steel leaders.

  5. Very late but that's a nice looking muskie. I live near a lake called Battle Lake that is stocked with them and we have the bar, clear, tiger and spot but it's not often I see one with such nice markings.

  6. Great fish, but I think fish care was lacking with the Muskie, although they put up a ferocious fight and seem like a very strong they are actually very fragile. The way you had clamped its gills was not good!

  7. Same thing happend to me today August,18th  i got a rock bass it jumped then went into some weeds then i feel a boom on my rod i lets my rod completely slack then something pops out of the weeds i think its a pike but its a musky i fight for like 5 min get it into the net then take a picture and release it was 13 pounds and 34 incs long around same size as yours
it was caught on a grub for bass!
