Summer Bass Fishing on Clarks Hill Lake | Beautiful Day… Until the Storm Rolled In!
There’s nothing quite like spending a summer day bass fishing on Clarks Hill Lake. From the peaceful scenery to the excitement of chasing quality bass, it’s one of the most beautiful outdoor experiences you can have. But as beautiful as the lake is, it can also become dangerous in a matter of minutes.
On this trip, we found a few quality bass by targeting shade lines and slowing down with finesse presentations, throwing Zoom Trick Worms on light spinning tackle. The bite was steady enough to put a few fish in the boat before Mother Nature had other plans.
As dark clouds rolled in and thunder began to rumble, we made the decision every angler should make—we got off the water. Summer storms on Clarks Hill Lake can develop incredibly fast. While many of these storms may pass quickly, the lightning, high winds, and rough water they bring can be life-threatening.
⚠️ A Friendly Reminder to All Anglers:
Your next cast is never worth risking your life. If you hear thunder or see storms approaching, don’t wait—head to the nearest safe landing. There will always be another day to fish.
We hope you enjoy today’s catches and, more importantly, take away a valuable reminder about staying safe while enjoying the outdoors.
