Summer bass fishing at Silverwood Lake [late July, 2026]
Decided to take a trip to Silverwood yesterday to beat the heat and keep slowly learning the lake. Been a while since I had been there and I never know what to expect, but also wanted to try some new things. Water temp was 73-74 degrees, about 10 degrees cooler than the shallow areas in Perris! Took a bit but finally found a couple patterns that worked. One of the bass I landed on the texas rig had actually ripped the worm off my hook on a previous bite, and when I caught it still had my worm in its mouth! Also had a couple surprise bycatches, one of which was a new striper PB. Turned out to be a great trip, didn’t even care the wind forced me off the lake early.
