In this video Peter and I go out for an afternoon of fishing, it starts off great with some decent large and small mouth bass however on our way back the engine bogs down and we come to a complete stop, after checking around the boat to see what was wrong we realize that our fuel tank is entirely empty with no back up fuel, and we are left far down the north arm of our lake to either paddle all the way back to our island or to wait to be rescued.

Just a couple suggestions. Get a dry bag with basic survival gear including phone charger battery and keep in the boat with you. Carry an LED flashlight that takes the 18650 battery.
Finally, check into ham radio. You can put an antenna high up on the island and carry a hand held radio with you. I think you would be able to communicate almost anywhere in the area.
But these kinds of memories will last a lifetime.
