Should you be pegging your weights when fishing a texas rig for bass? This is a common question I get asked all the time. I believe there is a time and a place when a peg should be used and when it shouldn’t. Watch this video and take some notes because it may make the difference between landing or losing the fish of a lifetime. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the video! So far they are doing what I hoped they would do.
This is like baby flair lmao he has come a long ass way 🔥
This is my second set of weight discs and I also have the 2 ounce and enjoyable.fishing recommend they work great and fit into the tackle box perfectly. the quality is there so I'm happy with them.
Thanks flair!
Baby Andrew
ahhhh vintage flair…nostalgic
I have never pegged a weight never wanted to try didn't know it was even a thing. Plus the more clicking clacking the more fish
Am I the one who when they don't peg the weight it break or frays my line?
Baby Flair!
The Pre-Googan Flair… I keep rubberbands for a peg & mono to pull the peg in the weight. Works great for punching cover…
You were young here lol
Really? You know what a fish thinks? You're a mind-reading fishologist?
Sounds like people are blaming their bad hook sets on having the weight pegged Lmao. Peg…no peg… Who cares
You need to get back to this type of content
I just shove a toothpick tip in there and break it off. It will hold close to the lure, but when a fish gets on and starts slinging, it still slides up 8-10".
Flair loved getting pegged
Was just wondering about pegging the texas rig weight. Nevermind😂
I've frequently wondered…why not use a jig instead of pegging a Texas rig?
Flair be like "no bobber stopper is better but i use a stopper majority of them time" like what?
What about leaving 1/4" in so when u have a bead to keep it tight but still make noise
I know tungsten is obviously better for environment. But other than that why is it so good. I haven't bought any yet ( haven't found them) but I use steel. Is that going to make a big difference. Or should I drive two hrs to bass pro shop kux that's the only place that has them without having to order
Thanks bud.
Hlpeghy
Jon b is that really you your my favorite youtuber
Hey bud either way on what these other ppl say to put the video down for some stupid reason, you made a great video! Keepm coming!
Thanks for the vid Flair! Why do you swear by "tungsten" for weighting your rig? I'm newer to bass fishing and wondering. Please elaborate and thanks again for your videos.
aye cheap hack: use a tooth pick to peg weights, the the weight on, and put the toothpick in the hole and it will pin the line in between it and the weight, tight lines peops✌
Great hook set problem solved
Today I learned, sometimes Flair is into pegging sometimes he isn't.
Naaa
I learned something new tonight. Thank you! 🙂
you know fish are smart. but the fish thinking the bait is distracted with anything is a little fair fetched.
Yeah what he said
Great and informative video! Keep it up man!
you asked people to leave a comment so here it is……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………Comment
The only time I peg a weight is for quick carolina rig and I use a toothpick Tungsten weights are the best but not for the wallet. If I do lose one I am heartbroken. Good stuff .
Good stuff, man.
Just leave a 1/2" to 1" length between your weight and your bobber stop.
I was fishing bullrushes.
I pegg my weight 100% of the time and I lost no fish today.
you could keep it maybe like 1 inch from the hook so it won't have leverage but will still be more compact? Maybe that could work?
Always peg and never had a problem.
i only use stops for my punching setup, keeps the profile a little more compact
I don't use them. Just because I don't know were to get them
